We were there tonight (not our first visit and definitely not our last) for Valentine’s Day dinner. Everything was fabulous. The Valentine specials were so good! I had the Crab cakes appetizer and Salmon on strawberry salad for my entree and both were excellent. Hubby had stuffed mushrooms and steak Gorgonzola from regular menu, also excellent. We brought home our special Valentines Dessert for later!! Rebecca is a super server! Very outgoing, friendly and attentive! Thank you for making our evening special!
Food was good, service was good. It wasn’t as nice as it looks online but still a good spot when there’s not much else around. Didn’t stand out to me

We happened to be town and wanted to try a restaurant we haven't been to before. Let me preface all of this by saying our waitress was extremely sweet and we loved her. Older lady , very kind and attentive. The food was goodish. What I didn't like though was being surrounded by drain flies the entire time we were eating. The bartender on duty was less than friendly to us. She slapped our menus on the table and when I said thank you she replied with a quick "yup" and went back behind the bar. Older woman with long black hair. She seemed a bit busy on her phone during the time we were there and chatting up a younger couple. We were also charged 10 extra dollars for 2 very small pieces of steak on a meal. Overall we probably will not return. I think maybe some cleaning needs to be done during their "slower" hours.

We were staying the night in St. Johnsbury while traveling around the New England states. We got into town decently late at night, and we quickly learned that 98 Mill is one of very few places in town that is open past 7pm. We arrived just after 7 on a Saturday, and it was quite busy - which is to be expected, since again most other establishments were closed by then. The hostess was sweet, and it seemed that they were understaffed that night as she was often having to go clean tables to get people seated. It seemed a bit disorganized though, as we would see some tables sit empty and cleaned for 10 minutes before people would be seated there, and there was also a group that arrived after us that got seated before us (they were a party of 4, we were a party of 3). Once seated, there were several flies crawling on and flying around our table, not sure if that was throughout the restaurant or just our area. Not a great impression at first. But our server was very friendly, funny, and attentive once he came to take care of us. Our food came out surprisingly quickly, and it was delicious! I debated between rating this spot 3 or 4 stars, but ultimately settled on 4 - great service and food outweighed the disorganized seating system and some flies buzzing around, in my opinion.

The food was decent and the service was good. The issue was the bugs. There were fruit flies in abundance around our table which is pretty gross and indicates rotting food somewhere nearby which just turned down the whole experience. The TVs are distracting and take away from the space. Would also be nice to have more vegetarian options and at least 1 vegan dish on the menu.

Food was pretty good but we waited for our food for over one hour on a busy Friday night, October 4, 2024. Our waitress only came once to give us an upate. Poor kitchen staff scheduling if you have two big parties on reservaton.
We happened to go on an extremely busy Sunday night which we took into consideration. However, we had to inquire about our appetizers after a 40 minute wait instead of the manager or waitress coming to our table to explain what was going on.
A small complimentary plate of nibbles would go a long way to take the edge off of hungry impatience. Communication is also essential. You don't want to sit there wondering if you have been forgotten.
We are locals and I'm guessing they assumed we were part of the leaf peeper crowd. It might be awhile before we return. The food is good but for the price we were looking for incredible.

I would NOT even give it any stars as we were seated but then not even acknowledged, even though we had 3 servers walk by, look at us and say nothing. On a Sunday night, We waited 15 minutes and got up and left. We’re 2 well dressed people that came in during business hours. What else can do you need to know to get waited on? We went down the street to East Garden Chinese. Had a fabulous meal there where the owner was friendly, fast and appreciative for the business.

We came in for dinner late-ish on a Sunday night. The meal was fantastic, from the salmon main course to the appetizer wings to the lobster bisque. Our server was courteous and expeditious, great guy. We’d love to come back! One complaint was the small black flies in the back room. We were swatting them the entire time. Clear those out, please.

This is just our experience: It was lunch time on a Sunday and the restaurant was full, it took 1Hour to get our Appetizers and 2 Hours to get our Entrees. No one ever came to us and apologized or gave any explanation to why there was such a long wait. We wish we were told before we were seated that it would be a 2 Hour wait, we could’ve had the choice to leave. We had a child with us that was hungry and frustrated and didn’t get their meal for 2 Hours , everyone with kids can relate to that frustration. I will say that everyone was satisfied with their meal, the food was as good as any other restaurant locally. We could tell our server was embarrassed and we were sure to let him know it wasn’t his fault. The Manager on Shift never came to any table to check on the customers, several customers left before their Entrees. We will not be going back !! P.S. (This was our first time at this Restaurant).
