baked feta tasted like someone defrosted moldy drywall soaked in brine in microwave; inedible.kitchen staff tried their best to assemble sophisticate sounding dish’s, but no real chef… felt like this restaurant preorders fancy sounding dishes for some discount service and just heat them up an assemble. but none of our food was hot. tiny chewy 6oz steak for $100, it’s lies bd joke. we were the only people there, seemed like everybody knew nobody eats here.

We made a reservation for 5:15 pm and confirmed a table by the window. When we arrived at the resort they told us the restaurant was closed and had been for awhile!! Not sure how they took my reservation.. anyway we ate at the bar- very mediocre and not worth our time or money.
Refreshing imaginative delightful
Beyond disappointed. Our holiday meal was ruined. It was a 4 course prix fixe menu: $125 for adults and $65 for kids. Unless they changed the chef, please do not waste your money here.
Hands down the worst food. I don't like complaining about much, in general, especially food. I feel lucky to be able to go out and afford to pay for someone else to cook, serve and clean up after a meal. This was meant to be a special meal for Christmas- we could not get a reservation for Christmas Eve or Cristmas Day so we settled for the Eve of Christmas Eve. We sat in the front room that has the exposed kitchen/ bar. There was only 1 other table seated during our entire stay - also a young family. When we made the reservation we were told it was a 4 course prix fixe menu: $125 for adults and $65 for kids. Cocktails from the bar were amazing. No complaints there. It was downhill there after. We started with both of the 1st course options- the lentil soup was ok, lacking flavor; while the borscht was a big bowl of red blah. The egg was the only thing edible. On to the next course- my daughter and I were told the spring vegetable terrine was just like a "spring roll"- uhm no- it was a gelatinous cube of infused bits of vegetables. I tried very hard to wash it down with my super yummy cocktail, trying to keep a poker face so my child will learn to "try new things". She was gagging trying to swallow the dang thing. My husband played it safe with the greens but the halloumi cheese also presented him with the similar challenge of preventing the need for a Heimlich maneuver. Main course- the dover sole and ribeye- both equally sub par with the potatoes being undercooked to the point where we could not even cut into them- I was hoping to get some sustenance from starch- I must be on the naughty list from not calling my mother often enough- because the potatoes were a total let down, and now hunger pangs ensue. OK, dessert time, keeping fingers crossed- How.Do.You.Screw.Up.Dessert?!? No Christmas miracle here- server convinced us to get the Thai sticky rice- again undercooked starch- somebody back in the kitchen really needs to get the basics down. It was horrible and inedible. My daughter ordered the apple pie with maple ice cream. If you ever wanted to know what your dish sponge tasted like, then please order this if you dare to come here. My kid trying her best to be sweet and appreciative of us taking her out for such a meal couldn't lie any longer, telling her father that she felt so bad that his hard earned money may have just been wasted on a meal that was supposed to be very special. His dessert was the cheese plate- the one thing I believe they did not make back in the kitchen. We attacked the tiny little cheese triangles as if we were the final contestants on the Survivor series. Alas- we did survive. I had enough energy in me to complain. I mentioned to the server that she really needed to say something to the chef; otherwise the families coming the next 2 days will also have their holiday meal ruined. The server did not seem to care. She attempted a concerned look but I really felt like all she wanted to say was "ok, my bad" and move on. Evidently a manager was unavailable to speak with at the time. She gave me one of those "Guest Check" line order sheets to write my complaint. I am fairly confident it was ripped up, sauteed and turned into someone's 1st course. Bill for 2 adults and 1 child= meal, plus drinks, plus tax, plus tip (yes, we still tipped the standard amount)= $505.23 I hope they were able to turn things around for the balance of the weekend.
We were hoping to stop at the Roost for drinks and lunch but it was closed so we were directed to the Flannel. I have to say I hope I never eat here again. The service was not bad but it was not good. The bartender looked like he was pulled from the construction crew. Dirty jeans and untucked black shirt. Several groups of women came in for a meal in bathrobes and not much underneath, which was obvious when they sat down and crossed their legs. The bartender made a good old fashioned but he did not know if they had any Dewars and it took 15 minutes for him to find out that he did not stock this brand of scotch. We had the tacos, wings and fries. Everything was covered in the same chipotle seasoning, and it was not good. There are a lot of good eating establishments on the Stowe Road. The only reason to eat at the Flannel is if you're staying at the resort and want a sandwich while swimming in the pool.
No tables available at this restraint. How can you enjoy this place ?
For the past ten years, we have had a Thanksgiving meal catered and packed to go from. Today, Thanksgiving, I drove out to pick it up after my wife confirmed with concierge Carol it would be there. It had not been done. I was made to wait, and nobody would then talk to me. The manager threw something together, and lied to my face of the contents of the order, cutting board and all. Instead of a whole turkey, they put a half breast in there. Waited over 40 minutes, after showing up when I was supposed to. The manager lied about every item I asked about being in there. If I would’ve ripped open each tiny container there, they would have probably called the police. I drove home an hour to find this atrocity they threw together to get rid of me. HOW STUPID DO YOU THINK I AM? We got married there a bunch of years back. I am done with the entire resort. I WANT AN APOLOGY for being lied to deliberately. That upset me more than your lousy food. Just so Carol knows, they blamed her. I will be contacting ownership and management. The chef never came out. Ever since Chef Alex left, they have let us down. They didn’t care. This is how long time customers get treated under present management. ONCE AGAIN, THANK YOU FOR EMBARRASSING ME AND RUINING MY THANKSGIVING.
food was good, but service was extremely slow.
Restaurantji Recommends
Good but overprice
Slow....
We have been here many times over the years and feel that things have changed for the worse. Hopefully, they can restore things to the way they once were???
This upscale restaurant provides an array of great entrees, appetizers and dessert.. The staff are well trained, they are professional and provide superior customer service. I highly recommend Flannel.
What a gem in Stowe! Super attentive waitstaff, excellent menu and an extensive wine list. We sat at the chefs counter and the staff was quite lovely and made for a fun night out with friends in town.
