Honestly I can say it has been the worst food I’ve ever tried in the US. We ordered the salmon, meatloaf and capers sauce pasta. Food presentation wasn’t good, taste was to simple and the description in the menu looks much better than the actual plate. The place was really hot that me and my friends were sweating. The attention was good.

I have eaten here in the past and it was fine, but my most recent trip was excellent. The restaurant seems to be under new leadership. The menu is great, service exceptional, and food was perfect. I ordered the strip steak and asked for it to be cooked a very particular way. I rarely order steak at a restaurant unless I know for sure it will be great, but I took a chance this time based on the recommendation of the server. The steak was prepared exactly as I asked it to be. But on top of that, the meat was really special. A strip steak is usually a little on the tougher side compared with a ribeye and filet, but this one had the texture of a filet and the taste of a strip. It was also prepared in a way that indicates they are doing something special behind the curtain. They have a flame grill but there was a crust on my steak that indicated they were doing something more than simply grilling it. Maybe it was a butter bath, or the seasoning, but whatever they did it was amazing. It was also a very clean piece of meat, no chewy bits, the fat was trimmed, and it just looked beautiful on the plate. I wish I had taken a photo. Overall, a great experience.

Returned food for the first time ever. My brother who eats 8,000 calories a day even spit it out. best thing about this place was the fire atmosphere. Wouldn’t

Really solid menu, great staff, clean atmosphere and overall a nice place to relax after hitting the slopes. The pasta dish is incredible and the drink list is creative.

Gorgeous restaurant located outside of the village on Stratton mountain, in the black Bear Lodge. Friendly service with a smile and delicious food. The black bear burger was juicy seasoned to perfection. And for dessert we had a chocolate peppermint martini from the bar. It was so delicious! It tasted like mint chocolate chip ice cream. Five stars!

Although the dinning room is not special or particularly attractive, the hamburgers in particular looked great and ,for eating on the Mountain, were priced well. The bartender was affable and it was fun sitting at the bar and looking out at the snowy landscape.

The menu has been drastically reduced compared to our last visit two years ago. The menu looks basically like a reduced “special” sandwiches and appetizers only. The chicken gyro was dried out chicken breast. The fries were heavy handed with the salt. The fried chicken sandwich was also heavy handed with the salt. A definite disappointment compared to previous experience and expectations. Table had a thin film of not being wiped, and the a third of the chairs in the entire place were ripped...can't even fake caring or bothering to duck tape or at least seat the few customers at tables with decent chairs. (EDIT: two nights later they had a dinner buffet spread, but didn’t experience it after the experience of the first night, decided to stay away from this place for dinner. Also, the complementary breakfast diminished as the days went on…next day had less selection of packaged cereal, fresh fruit and juices (Rice Krispies, Frosted Flakes, and more to just Scooters and Cheerios and instant oatmeal, apples and pears to just pears and three juices to just apple and cranberry).)

Four of us stayed at the Black Bear Lodge for two nights and we had one dinner and two continental breakfasts at the Table 43.1 restaurant. All the meals are buffet style with limited choices. The continental breakfasts were free with the lodging. Breakfast featured sausage patties, reconstituted scrambled eggs (who is responsible for inventing this?), and hash browns as the hot entrees, decent juices, disappointing bagels, small pastries, kid dry cereals, and the usual hot beverages. The food was sort of edible, if not very satisfying. Better food could have made this an enjoyable meal. The dinner featured soup, salad, two choices for the meat, several vegetables, and a dry triple layer chocolate cake for dessert. The broccoli cheddar soup, green beans, and sweet potatoes were actually pretty good. The roast beef required a good knife to cut. My wife ordered a gin and tonic, which came in a can, and which was unrecognizable as a gin and tonic. An 18% tip was added to the bill, which seems a bit excessive considering that the wait staff had to deliver the drink and the bill.

Everything absolutely delicious. Greek salad, pulled pork soup, crabcakes, braised strip steak, sautéed greens, mac n cheese and peach apple cobbler. Kudos to the new head chef. This was all in tonight's buffet.

Don’t believe what you see on Google or website. There is NO a la carte menu. It is a buffet. None of the staff know when the a la carte will return - at least 3 different stories. The food was quite tasty - good Caesar salad and fried mushrooms. Jalapeño poppers not spicy. Tortellini dry. Pork sliders fair. Broiled broccoli and siracha maple cauliflower were quite tasty. Chicken tenders and fries good. Excellent lemon meringue bites. The WORST thing was that there was an 18% tip slapped on at the beginning of the bill. Not worth it.

Salmon pieces were pretty good, roasted chicken was okay. Not sure if buffet style with a beer is worth $51 a person here. Service isn’t that great

We went there Last Saturday for dinner. I felt like we got discriminated. We specificly asked for A la carte menu and the waitress told us they only serve buffet food and we start eating but 10 min later another group came and they asked for the a la carte menu and the same waitress said sure they have, she brought the menu and she explained the entire menu for 5 minutes. On the other hand she didnt even looked our face. There were only 3 of us and they added 20% gratuity on our order. She was super rude. I still dont get it. Is it because of our skin color? I wont recommend to this place to any colored skin people!!!!!

I was walking thru the hotel lobby and heard live music from the restaurant... there was a guitarist playing there. So I thought I would just get a sandwich at the bar like I had done before. The bartender gave me a very sparse bar food menu and said it was that or the dinner buffet.... no entrees available. I guess due to staffing issues in restaurants everywhere. Anyway the crab cakes I got were pretty good and it was nice to have live music. But if you are planning dinner, be aware that as of Feb 2022 it was just a buffett. Menu image attached here.

A great restaurant located right in the Black Bear Lodge, just far enough away from Stratton village
