Highly recommend Black Sheep Bistro. Super cozy, wonderful staff, and delicious food. The Thai broiled haddock is to die for. We love the duck as well. The salads are excellent starters. We haven't tried dessert yet, because the food is so delicious and filling. Thank you and we will be back soon !

We were a party of four, excited to show the other couple how great this restaurant is. Unfortunately, we each received our entree’s and the waitress only brought out one French fri dish and one mashed potato for four people. Everyone was hesitant to take any because it doesn’t leave much for anyone else. The price for each entrée is suppose to include the fries and potato. The waitress said she’s been there years…

From the ? to ? everything was delicious. I had a pumpkin bisque for an app, followed by lamb meatloaf, with a flourless chocolate cake for dessert. Everything was well timed and perfectly done. And the sides of French fries and mashed potatoes that come with every meal were irresistible as always.

Fantastic food and service! Bread is always a signal of quality: this exceeded any expectations. Four of us: duck, salmon, steak… all were exceptional. Especially surprising because this was just about the only dining option in this small town. Sticky toffee pudding for dessert: outstanding. Knowledgeable server, who offered informed wine recommendations. We have seldom experienced such a solid all-round performance in big cities, let alone in this lovely little town, which delighted and surprised four pretty experienced diners!

the service left a lot to be desired. small things such as waiting 5-10 minutes to be acknowledged (with reservation), woman who seated us gave us ice water in HOT glasses, holding share plates with their thumb in the middle of the plate before putting it down, and the biggest one - taking little concern over a serious allergy, and acting frustrated when we asked the server to double check that an item was safe to eat. not taking the time to consider they should also check on complimentary items provided and whether they are safe to eat.the food is solid - however, the place does not have a cocktail menu..they just list out liquors like a dive bar would.. and the server didn’t take time to suggest wine parings or go over the menu at all. just “what do you want”. server told us the restaurant could “make anything” as far ask cocktails, then gave us an old fashioned that was essentially just grenadine and whiskey (eek - you can’t make a classic drink - not a good look) … tldr- the service is lacking so much, the food isn’t worthwhile. i believe you have wonderful food but the very basics of service are not well understood at this spot. very very basics. and the whole experience, despite us having a reservation far in advance, was very disorganized. our table wasn’t ready, when we got there it wasn’t wiped down, and no one came by to greet us for 10 minutes. i felt like they were not that busy, but i also don’t know their system. i would give this a 3/5, but the service is what drags the score down. you can do better!

This place has been here for a long time, and despite challenges, the consistency and quality has remained. The food is always top notch and the service is wonderful. The outdoor patio seating is great, but be aware that route 22A goes right through town with truck traffic. That is just part of the experience. Don't miss this spot.

Simple and delicious food. Homemade fries with amazing dipping sauces and garlic mashed potatoes are served with every meal. Everything on the menu is excellent, my favorite would be the haddock with curry sauce. Cozy spot with friendly service.
