This isn't a cafe as much as a counter with a giant screen to order incredibly overpriced, oily, cold food.First, there's no sign anywhere on the building stating where the "cafe" is. The poor woman at the counter was very pleasant but spoke no English. When my wife asked for napkins she just looked at her blankly until she asked in Spanish. Two people canceled their orders after I placed mine because the woman didn't know where they were. When we finally got ours it was cold and disgusting but we ate most of it because we were starving. I should've asked for a refund but I didn't know how to do it in Spanish and the poor girl probably couldn't have figured out how to do it. Be forewarned.

First visit was on February 10th. I was meeting a friend for a birthday lunch. I ordered a multigrain bagel with veggie cream cheese. I asked for the bagel toasted. The attendant clearly didn't have an "English" grasp. I repeated the order three times for her as she wasn't clear what I wanted. However, she was friendly and kind. I received a piece of multigrain bread toasted with plain cream cheese. On the side was a small lettuce, carrots, cukes salad. I guess that was what she thought I meant by veggie cream cheese. Anyway, it was difficult enough for her to understand what I wanted that I didn't deal with bringing it up and going through it again. It was a disappointment and I was starved so we went to LuLu ice cream a little way up on Main. My friend ordered the portobello mushroom and said it was adequate but nothing to rave about. She noted, "I hope this place survives". I only gave two stars because the attendant was kind but she didn't have a clue.... I always feel places deserve 2nd chances but after reading the reviews (which I should have done beforehand), I won't be returning.

Maple Cafe has lovely drinks, desserts and bagels. The service can be hit or miss but I still like coming here. It is quiet and you can find a little corner or table to just relax and enjoy your food. Be patient with the staff as it's been hard for businesses to find reliable employees. Give yourself some time and don't be in a hurry if you come here.

Really not sure how this place has 4.3 stars. I know we’re not from around the area, but it was still not that easy to find. Definitely need better signage on the outside of the building. When we got to the counter the only two employees couldn’t use the register and literally shrugged and said they couldn’t help us, so we ended up leaving and going to 3 Squares.

Disappointing. Asked for a regular cup of coffee, she said they don't have it. I ordered a latte instead. It wasn't a latte, it was cappuccino and tasted like a gas station vending machine one. The young lady who took our order was not polite and on her phone the whole time. We got the egg tacos and both the egg and tortilla were microwaved so they were chewy and soggy. Not worth $25, that's for sure.

Went for an early breakfast.. The first thing you notice is the restaurant is immaculately clean, as are the restrooms.We both ordered bagels and lox, and they were fresh, delicious and reasonably-priced. Served with a side of fresh greens, and fresh coffee, We shall return.

Tried to go here twice because everyone can have a bad day. I won't be going back.The first time was at 8:20 am. They said they open at 8. I waited with one other customer. Finally at 8:25 someone came out from the back and said "we're not open until 9". Ok, maybe someone didn't show up, understandable.Went this morning to give them another chance, again at 8:25. Ordered a sandwich, then was told "no, cash only." No signs, no warning, no explanation; they obviously have a card machine.So sorry, heard they're good, but I won't ever give them a 3rd chance.
Wonderful menu and an epic breakfast bagel! Welcome to Vergennes! I will be back.

So very satisfied and pleased with our lunch. Wonderful customer service hand delivered our coffee and food to our seats. The building has lots to look at very cool atmosphere. Love the levels and different places to explore.While the white mocha latte was a nice wake up and a warm hug on this breezy cloudy morning.Pillowy soft panini bread with a little toasted crunch on the inside. The cooked spinach and fresh tomato balances out the salty caramelized onions and protein packed turkey perfectly.Having a nice little side salad with both was much needed as we had been consuming fried food and needed some extra vitamins and minerals.Overall had a great time and got the good meal I so desperately and craved so thank you very much!
