Best fish. Comes in fresh and is vac sealed and frozen. Owner of the place is the guy who goes out on the boat. Like that. Anything you want, you will find it here. Love it

Sugarfish provides a wonderful variety of quality seafood in the Mad River Valley. We are all very fortunate to have this place as a local resource for great fish. There is an honor system available for payment when Suze is not at the shop. Highly recommended!

This tiny little seafood market in Fiddler's Green, in the same building as the self-serve laundromat, is not to be confused with Sugarfish, a decent, mid-range sushi chain. Sugar Fish market opened a few years ago per the owner -- but this is the first year I've ever noticed it. There's a truck festooned with Christmas lights parked out front, so it's currently hard to miss! Prices seem fair. The store is neat and clean. I was really won over by their use of an honor system for payment when the counter is unwomanned or unmanned. Everything sold is frozen, including the oysters (pre-shucked, I think). In truth, we didn't get to try any of the actual fish from this market, since we'd already overbought on groceries at Mehuron's (which does sometimes have a few fresh oysters). But we resolve to get back to Sugar Fish in February to try it then. Just adding this to the Yelp-iverse!
