My husband, Brian and I finally got to try Jamaican Jewelz last Saturday, and it completely lived up to the hype! We’ve been wanting to go for a while, especially since Brian is Jamaican and had met the owner, mama Jewel, at Okemo a few years ago. A friend of mine also kept recommending it, so we had to see for ourselves.
First of all, the service was amazing. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. When the food came out, the presentation alone showed how much love and care goes into each dish. Everything looked fresh, vibrant, and thoughtfully prepared.
We ordered the oxtail and maple jerk chicken, and they were both incredible. The dishes were packed with healthy, fresh ingredients like spinach, tomatoes, carrots, peppers, and cabbage, which paired perfectly with the proteins. And most importantly, the food was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. We literally ate everything and left nothing but bones lol
According to Brian, the flavors were authentically Jamaican, but with a unique and creative twist, especially with how they incorporate maple and greens like spinach. It made the whole experience feel both traditional and refreshing at the same time.
We also had the chance to talk to mama Jewel, and she is truly the sweetest. So bubbly, kind, and full of positive energy. Even though she was working hard in the kitchen, her warmth still came through so strongly, and we had such a lovely conversation with her.
Overall, this place is an easy 11/10 for me. We’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend everyone to give it a try, you won’t regret it! 🤍

If you have not had the Maple Jerk Chicken, you have a wonderful experience ahead of you. If you’re on I-91, get off at exit 5 northbound, or exit 6 southbound, take Route 5, stop for great food, and then continue on your way. Route 5 parallels 91, so you are not detouring. Amazing Jamaican food in an unexpected place.

Good place to get a nice meal. A bit spicy for me, but worth it.
My Fiancé and I came here to get some food but it was closed. The owner noticed us and let us in. After explaining why she was closed, she offered us two to go boxes of the maple jerk chicken. The chicken was great and the sauce was beyond our expectations. I honestly believe that its the best food spot in the area. I hope she is open soon but in the meantime she is doing catering orders. Would highly recommend this place as the food and customer service was top tier.
