Clams are the best cooked that I have ever had & so large of orders you can't eat it all! I used to work at a River Grill as a teen years ago & they have them bet! I would give them a 10 🌟 for rating!

We had just arrived at Quechee Gorge and the first thing we did was get some food at Snack Bar At The Gorge. I had a bacon cheeseburger with French fries. Wife had clam chowder. We both had milkshakes. The prices were reasonable. I found the staff to be nice. We enjoyed our food. This place is adjacent to the gorge. There seemed to be plenty of parking when I was there.

Really good haddock sandwich (like a burger, but good pieces of well cooked haddock) with tomato and portions of homemade slaw and tartare sauce, run out off pickles. Lovely homemade onion rings. Sit on tables close by, some sheltered from rain. We returned a second day! Shame tour coaches stop near the tables, don’t turn their engines off. Half the passengers aim for the snack bar the others to the bridge close by for a great view of the gorge! Short drive from the VINS tree canopy walk. Hurry the Snack Shack is seasonal, closing for the rest of the year soon.
Parking: Large free parking lot access to the bridge to view the gorge. Further parking the other side of the bridge! Currently roadworks on bridge so single lane traffic, controlled by lights, not a problem for us, a small delay.
Kid-friendliness: I cannot see any problems with kids, just keep them away from the parking. Certainly they’d love the ice creams!
Wheelchair accessibility: Steps up to service, may need someone to place and collect orders but you can access the tables, technically a takeout. No immediate restrooms

Made my annual fall trip to the Gorge. The snack bar is such a treat. Ordered fried whole belly clams. The portions were extremely generous and clams were cooked to perfection! Had a hike and went back for a small maple creamie. Very generous portion and the flavor was very distinct. Best maple creamie I have ever had. The staff is extremely hard working and helpful. Don't miss this place! Picnic tables are plentiful.

The best Clams in Vermont. They get their clams from the same clam cleaning company that all the clams in Mass and the rest of New England get their clams. They also change there oil often. The best is they cook clams in their own oil so you taste only of clams. great onion rings as well and well portion on every order
Burgers were large and fresh not frozen fries were made with there own slicer and yummy

I approached the ordering window on Sat night at ~6:45pm (they close at 7pm), but the employee working there looked at me and closed the window. When I motioned that I wanted to order/ask a question, he smirked at me and looked back down at the counter. Unbelievably rude... wonder if the owner knows how his employees treat customers (and that they close early).

Delicious food! Honestly some of the best seafood I’ve had in a long time! The amount of food and the quality are amazing and I want to just give a huge thank you to all of you! The cook was amazing and deserves the appreciation because my family and I were wowed! Great job! We will be back for sure!

This place never disappoints. We try to come as often as possible during the season. The whole belly clams are the best around. My boyfriend loves the scallops. Portions are generous and well worth what you pay for. Friendly staff and quick service.
