Had a phenomenal first experience at Alpenglow, on Valentines Day. The pre fixed menu was well crafted and delicious. Staff was friendly, helpful and attentive. Planning out next visit.

The good - the service by the staff and the atmosphere. That’s were the good ended:Appetizers were very salted, to the point the food was uneatable - pretzel and duck. The pretzel portion was very small with not enough mustard on the side. The main courses were completely the opposite and had no salt or flavor. The steak was tasteless and schnitzel was nothing specialFor such a hyped up restaurant in Wilmington, Vermont it was a disappointment and even greater disappointment when you compare the dish prices to the food.My advice is avoid for the price

My friend and I drove all day and checked into the Vermont house, we were starved and it was freezing so we decided to give the place next door a shot and we are so happy we did! Jeff was spectacular, went above and beyond with service, his knowledge of the food was spot on. He even collaborated with the kitchen to make special gluten free crepes for desert. Absolutely recommend!!

It takes a lot to wow me but this place is a gem that can take on any NYC restaurant. Our dining experience definitely ranks in the top 10 if not top five dining experiences.I feel I must qualify to you that I spent 18 years working in fine dining at places like Union Square Cafe & Butter in NYC and the Wild Ginger in Seattle -- so much taste buds have been corrupted and now seek out amazing food. Our experience started out with Susan working some magic to get us a last minute table on a Saturday night.I started of with the refreshing Winter Alps cocktail while my wife had The Bernese Boot -- this kicked off and extravaganza of delight from here on out.We had the Braised Pork Belly and Winter Salad for appetizers. Simply amazing in presentation and tastes.I ordered the Pinot Nior Rose and asked James to surprise me with a glass to pair with the what we ordered. He brought the Luigi Giordano Nebbiolo and delight it did.The wines played off of each other and the Salmon diner I had for an incredible experience. My wife asked James to bring a paring for her lobster risotto and he showed up with the Nebbiolo Rose -- which was a scrumptious pairing. For desert, our first round was the Crepe Suzette paired with an orange desert wine and it was delightful, but James said he was surprised because he thought we were creme brulee fans. WE ARE but we wanted to venture out, but still wanting more we had to try the maple infused creme brulee and it was the Chef Kiss to top of a super memorable date night. We will be back for sure and this dinner is worth every minute spent driving from Brooklyn and will likely drew us up sooner to relive the magic they created.

Incredible service. The cuisine was on par with anything I experienced in Europe. The schnitzel was perfect. The lobster spatzel even better. Will be back!

Gorgeous German Restaurant! Ambiance with fireplaces is authentic. Warm pretzels are a must. All dishes are spectacular. We sat at a table in the bar. Service and atmosphere were an all mountain experience. Jeff the bartender and server went over the top to make our 10 year old daughter’s night perfect. Thank you all we will be back in 3-weeks.

Omg!! From start to finish this establishment blew my mind!! I have heard all around town how wonderful the food is but had to try it out ourselves. From the amazing greeting from the extremely friendly owner, Susan and Avery, the multilingual general manager, we were welcomed and ready for the culinary experience that lay ahead. We asked the intelligent and handsome, Jeff, for a libation recommendation, and he nailed it after asking us what we were looking for. We then perused the menu and the stunning Raquel entered and gave us menu suggestions…. She could not have nailed it more. Dan delivered our amazing crispy mushrooms with a smile and then the unbelievable crabcakes appeared!! I cannot rave enough about this restaurant as it is so hard to find unbelievable service coupled with top notch food in Vermont. RUN don’t walk! You won’t be disappointed.

Awesome place in Wilmington. It’s not a burger joint so don’t be confused. If you’re looking for something unique and delicious, this is the place. Great service and cocktails and superb food. Do it.

My husband and I decided to spend a very rare date night out at Alpenglow, and the whole experience was above and beyond in every way! We made a reservation for the more casual pub space downstairs, and sat at a lovely high-top table. The atmosphere was cozy and fun; it felt comfortable and relaxed, but still special. We got the braised pork belly and the german potato salad as appetizers; the pork belly was prepared perfectly, absolutely melting in our mouths, and the potato salad was the perfect accompanying dish. We shared the German bier bratwurst as an entrée, and it was just what we'd hoped for. I had their signature cocktail, The Alpenglow, and it was DELICIOUS! Perfectly balanced, light, and lovely. I wish I'd snapped some photos, but I was too wrapped up in the delicious food and drink, and my lovely dining partner (that was another thing; even though there were other diners in the space, it somehow still felt private, and we talked easily through the whole visit). Not only were the food and atmosphere lovely, but the service was impeccable. We will definitely be planning another date night at Alpenglow! 5 stars for sure.
