Convenient gas station on the main route through Woodstock Vt. Large selection of foods for snacking or a quick meal, lots of different beverage choices, from water to wine.Wheelchair accessibility: Fairly large parking area for a gas station. Handicap parking and access right in front of the store

Here me out…the Italian sub I got here was one of the better sandwiches I’ve ever eaten. Certainly some of the best food I’ve ever had from a gas station - right up there with Sheetz and Wawa. Friendly service and…incredibly for Fall in Woodstock…NO LINE! Skip the crowds, grab a bite, and get back to leaf peeping

Used to love this place but the costs have gotten so high I can’t afford anything here anymore I don’t blame them but it’s definitely noticeable

This is the first time I have been to Amatoes . The experience was nothing short of WEIRD. I looked and the menu and wanted the sub with Salami, Capacola, prosciutto, provolone. First, you have to order it from a machine. I selected the name of the sub on the computer menu and was shown a list or condiments, which I selected the items I wanted. When done, it prints out a barcoded type of receipt which to take to another Maxine to pay . Totally weird, no human interaction . There were 3 “pay” machines. After observing what others were doing, I went to one and paid and got me receipt. Well if I thought that was weird, it got even weirder. I noticed the person making the sandwich and I noticed he was only putting the veggies that I selected. I didn’t have a clear view of what he was doing si I mentioned to the person that there was supposed to be prosciutto in the sandwich. After all, that was one of the meats described in the name of the sandwich that I chose. He looked at his screen and stated that it was not in the list. That should of been my first clue that something was odd. He said he would add it. He did add it and when I went to consume the sandwich, I noticed that was only meat on the sandwich. What the heck, I chose a sandwich name that had the meats in the description, and only received the one meat that I mentioned. A total rip off since I paid a little over $10 for a rather small Large Italian and only received 1 meat that I verbally requested. If I was suppose to choose the meat on the computer, I never saw an option to choose what meats I wanted even though I chose the sandwich by name . I should of done what the person before me did and told the person that I am not going to mess with that stupid contraption. Lesson learned, I guess. Stay away from Amati’s

Sandwiches and other deli items are delicious and good quality. The deli would do fine as a stand alone eatery. Store and restrooms are CLEAN. Wide selection of prepackaged items. Definitely worth the stop if you are on the road.

This has been our stop for a long time for a whoopee pie and coffee on the way home from skiing.
