The hotel is lovely. We ordered the evening special and the food was very good. We had an appetizer and then waited 40 minutes for the entree. The server did not seem to think there was a problem. She may not have understood our concern as I think was on a Work Visa not a native English speaker. Overall acceptable...could have been better.
Great food, service and ambience. Kitchen service was a little slow, but it was peak foliage season, and they were very busy. In spite of that, everything was well done.
One of the top 5 meals I have had, and we have eaten at a lot of nice restaurants! If this chef doesn't have a Michelin star, he deserves one.
Wonderful, local, healthy, delicious food varied enough for everyone! We enjoyed Vermont butternut squash and apple soup, a cheese plate, and chicken, terrific wines, and creative desserts. Bonus: a charming porch overlooked a serene courtyard with beautiful trees and flowers!
The New York strip was tender and very tasty. The root vegetable topping over loose mushy mashed potatoes made the bordelaise sauce like soupy gravy.
Our Food was delicious and our server was fantastic. Our server Sadika was wonderful and was right on top of things ,thinking of everything we may need in a timely fashion without being intrusive. We dined out on the porch- it was quiet and relaxing. I don't drink alcohol, but I really appreciated the non- alcoholic choices. My husband does drink and enjoyed their cocktails and wine. Be sure to leave room for their maple cake- it is to die for!!
We've been coming here for over a decade. The variety of choices & creative recipes make each meal superb. This trip we had our lovely server Sonya. The wine and drink selections are outstanding. Try the mussels, sweet pea hummus with variety of salads & proteins were our choices.
Decent meals served. Nothing bad or really outstanding. Service was good but not overly attentive.
The ambience and design could be much improved. It is not befitting the history or decor of the rest of the Inn. It is plain, cold, and stark. The food and wine list is fine. Decor should be equally as good.
Personable service, outstanding food, well crafted cocktails, what could possibly be missing? Will definitely be back

Very good all around nothing dissatisfying nor anything overwhelming. The BLT was a little bland. Mushroom Bolognese was very good.
The poutine was delicious, a lot of gravy, and the fries were very good. I would get a side of fries with any sandwich and add it to the poutine if you get the chance, there was lots of gravy and cheese left on the plate. My salad was amazing, the caprese too. The burger could use a sauce or condiment of some kind, but the bacon jam is nice. My MIL loved her chicken salad, though she did order fries and get a salad by mistake (was totally fine, I'm sure would be corrected if asked but she ate and enjoyed her salad!)
Amazing food and great service. Maple walnut cake for dessert was the standout at our table. While this is the hotel restaurant for the Inn, for most people it will be more of a special occasion dining experience than a regular dinner out.
Laura, our waitress, was particularly pleasant: cheerful, a quick sense of humor, attentive, accommodating and friendly. Red Rooster isn't inexpensive but it's dependably tasty, comfortable and unhurried. The clams in my clam chowder were a perfect (chewable!) consistency, the flavors of my sweet pea hummus dish alluring.
Excellent service. Greatly prepared food! Salad was so fresh. Parker rolls sooo good. Great wine and nice waiter John! Vermont Maple cake was fabulous!
