Traditional fine dining - which may not be to everyone's taste but we enjoyed our dinner in the elegant restaurant at the front. Some have said this is expensive, but it is fixed price menu including an appetiser, salad and entree so it is actually quite reasonable. Good quality food and great service. Well paced not rushed as they don't turn tables in the way that other restaurants do these days.

Gets worse each time. Not going back again. New York strip was the special that night. Wife’s was tiny, mine a little bigger - but both mostly gristle. Awful. I must say the new hostess was a sweetheart and so much better than the one who we were used to seeing. That woman acted as if the restaurant is a Michelin rated establishment and very condescending. Trust me, it is not close to a Michelin restaurant. Overpriced, bad food.

The waitress whose name I’ve forgotten, thin, short blonde hair, was a sweetie too!

Obscenely overpriced—no prices listed on the menu. $79 for duck entree that was merely mediocre. $20 for child’s pasta and an additional $6 for a second meatball. Our server didn’t inform us of the pricing and the ridiculous extra charge for one meatball. Woodstock Inn’s Red Rooster has much better food, service, atmosphere, and not to mention prices.

This is our favorite restaurant in Woodstock. The food never disappoints and both the menu entrees and the specials are always outstanding. We especially love the oil and rolls, which are the perfect way to start the meal. And of course the desserts are the perfect ending. The servers are great and the place is perfect for a romantic dinner as well as a night out with friends or family. I've also noticed that people seem to really enjoy eating at the bar (we haven't tried that yet as we enjoy sitting in the dining room.) And post-pandemic it has finally become easier to get a reservation at restaurants in Woodstock! I can't recommend the Prince and the Pauper more highly. We look forward to returning again and again

Restaraunt that makes you feel at home. Everyone was welcoming. Very accommodating to celiac and other allergies. Delicious food. Our waitress Amy was over the top. Will definitely come again when in town.

Amy was fantastic in every way. She was attentive, helpful with recommendations, patient (while we caught up and hasn't looked at the menus yet) and fun. The good tasted and liked great and was plentiful. A very wonderful experience for my first time there.

Everything was great except the rice, which was simply a scoop of plain white rice, sort of dried out. No flavor, bad texture... A bizarre thing at a pricey and otherwise excellent restaurant

The service and atmosphere couldn't have been better. Our waitress was wonderful and inside the restaurant was very cozy. The phone number on their website doesn't work, but the Google number is correct. But we were able to make reservations despite being last minute because we kept calling the number on their website. Anyhow, Our food was very good... we both took advantage of the fixed menu. I had prime rib, salad with bleu and ramp pasta. My companion had prime rib, salad with bleu cheese and poached pears with fried goat cheese with a wine reduction. First off our prime ribs were drastically different. Mine was cut much thicker where my husband's was A LOT thinner. I ordered mine cooked to medium he ordered medium rare. I would say they were both on the rarer side. The horseradish sauce and auju both fabulous. Rib was a little too fatty, but made the dog happy! Lol. Salads were both very good, fresh and ample cheesed. Pasta was good but not hugely ramp flavored. All this said the goat cheese and poached pear with wine sauce was AMAZING (see pics) The cheese was perfectly cooked with a light crispy outside. The pears and sauce perfectly complimented the cheese. If its on the menu, don't miss this wonderful appetizer. Also ordered a maple berry mule (it was not in the traditional copper). The drink was delish! Recommend!

Definitely a must try if you're in Woodstock VT. Nestled I'm a quite side street with a superb selection of eclectic offerings. This restaurant is a great option, especially in the winter months.

I wouldn’t recommend. Especially for the price.

Starting with the good, the service was excellent—our waitress was attentive and helpful.

The bad—the food was mediocre and pricey. Very basic flavors and seasoning.

I don’t really write bad reviews that often but it frustrates me when you spend so much and the food doesn’t deliver.
