Chinese Village is a beloved restaurant in the Harbor that offers a wide range of delicious dishes. Family meal 9 is a standout favorite, with tender and cooked-to-perfect chicken, crispy crust, and flavorful gravy. The restaurant also serves a mean Cashew Chicken, S&S, and Fried Rice, all packed with meat and vegetables. The staff is friendly and attentive, with a young lady in particular making a great impression. The atmosphere is kid-friendly, with plenty for little ones to look at, and wheelchair accessibility is no issue with big doors and walkways. Overall, Chinese Village is a gem that has earned a loyal following, with staff that remember regulars and their go-to orders. Recently, some customers noted that the sweet and sour pork was very dry and tough, but they enjoyed the sweet and sour chicken which replaced it. Prawns were also enjoyed by one guest. Some dishes like fried rice with chicken and Mongolian beef did not meet expectations, as the dishes were not quite what was ordered, with the Mongolian beef resembling chow mein and the rice being basic boiled rice. Others found their vegetarian combo to be standard, with the mushroom Foo Yung being as good as usual, but the Chow Mein was bland and made from frozen peas and carrots, with few fresh ingredients. The restaurant could improve by offering tofu as a protein option, which would be appreciated by vegetarian guests.
