Tried to go eat. They had the area blocked off so you couldn't walk in from the gas station side and the front door was locked. The Employee was sitting in the seated area not looking up. It was 4:40pm and online said it was open until 6pm. If you're going to shut down at 4pm update your hours please! At least put a closed sign up. Review from hangry guy.
The filets are not what they were in their heyday in the 90s, but it was good to see a satellite Skipper's in a newer gas station/convenience facility on the West Plains. I've always thought they've had the less greasy option for QSR, national/regional brand fried fish, and this location held true to that. For 2023, they're pretty affordable. Nice gal was cookin' it all, with a friendly dude keeping the dining area clean. This was not a planned lunch. We were getting rez-priced gas, and grabbin' libations; but, when I saw they were here I thought, 'Holy crap, a Skipper's!' The rest, as they say, is history. Glad to see'm, again...
Calvin and Krystal are terrific. Always give me the best service and great food!!!! They understand the concept of customer service. Very nice to see that at fast food restaurants!
The food, as always, was great. But when my order was presented I was told that they were out of coleslaw. When I asked for a discount but was told that it was just a free add-on and I wouldn't get anything. I felt cheated.
Said open drove 20 miles and they were closed at 5:00 pm
Hours are wrong. Stopped by 4/2/24 at 11pm and it was closed.
Excellent and friendly service, cozy seating, and the best chowder in the world. The fish and chips are excellent too!
