Delicious! Quickly made to pick up. Great location. Sides especially seasonal side are to die for. 4.3 or whatever stars is really understatement for people who do not understand or do not like real bbq. Reminds me of my visit in Austin TX. My favorites are briskets (sliced or chopped) and pulled pork. Ribs are same as Texans, too peppery for my liking. Prefer sweet ribs.

After passing this place on rt 167 for years I decided to give them a try . Very nice layout . more space in there than I thought . I ordered the trinity option ( brisket, sausage , ribs ) side of Mac and cheese and cornbread . There was a lot of fat on the ribs but it was tender . The bbq sauce was ok but nothing special . The brisket was good . The sausage was the the best meat by far .. that only offered one cup of bbq sauce . The corn bread was hard . I did not like the flavor of the Mac and cheese or it's consistency. I also ordered the catfish meal . Hush puppies and collard greens .. The collard greens were Great !! The portion of catfish was generous but the cornmeal in the fish lacked flavor . Also the side portion of Cole slow was tiny . The hush puppies were not what I expected . It was was heavy like hot water cornbread and tasted like thanks giving stuffing as opposed to hush puppies Pretty disappointing . Here's the worse part , I saw they offered banana pudding and I was elated!! I ordered two to take home so I would not have to share with my spouse. This dessert was a sad excuse for banana pudding , it was very soupy with no texture at all . I took one bite , powdery , and flavorless with a strange after taste . I thought about taking back . It was that bad . Liquified banana pudding is not acceptable. There was bubbles in the container . For 118 dollars I would have expected better food . For what it's worth everyone there was extremely nice , atleast I know where to get links and collard greens .

I’ve driven by this place for years and always thought it was a dive bar/tavern. I came here to celebrate a send off for one of my boys heading to Texas. Hence the Texas bbq themed restaurant. The place is huge inside. I wouldn’t expect anything less. Texas style decor as well. Friendly staff and service. Ordered the Texas caviar with chips because it’s yummy that way. Another ordered the loaded French fries. Those were great!!!! I gotta eat them before they get soggy though. I’m absolutely not a soggy food person at all!Ordered pulled pork with garlic mash potatoes and cornbread for the sides. Also a side Caesar salad. Pork was full of flavor and moist. Mash potatoes are garlic potatoes. The cornbread was surprisingly good. Sweet and pretty moist. Since we are in a Texas atmosphere I couldn’t leave without trying their pecan pie. Advertised as an award winning pie back in the 90’s I had to try. Everything was great….except the crust. I’m picky when it comes to pie crust. I make the best crust ever and it comes from an old Betty Crocker recipe. Outside you can see all the smokers they have for the meats the serve. It can make your day if you imagined that in your back yard!Anyway, I will definitely come back when I need my Texas food I say check it out!! It’s suuuuper good!

Last night, I was lured to #algonawa to try out a #texasbbq restaurant. I will say - the theme was definitely #austintexas, but the food was not. I'm an #austintexasnative, and nothing can or ever will compare to #lowandslow #bbq. This was the typical commercial #leanbrisket. The #pnw passes off as #bbq, and because I've consistently been #bamboozled here in the #seattle area with this, I knew what to expect going in so I was settled to the fact of the taste. The flavors were there with the whole BBQ theme. But, not what I grew up knowing & loving. : Jacks BBQ & Steakhouse 35731 W Valley Hwy S, Algona : Brisket BBQ Plate - Brisket + 2 sides (in their defense the meat did pull apart and was tender - I did get a piece of all fat & sent it back & it was replaced quickly) I had the queso Mac n Cheese & Mustard potato salad which was heavy on the Mayo & almost a soup consistency. : The Texas Trinity + 2 sides - I asked for Brisket burnt ends (i love a good charred meat, but this was just the thick seasoning no real char), sausage (delicious) & ribs - pulled right apart. I had the buttermilk Cornbread (kinda tough, cooked hard) & the sweet corn pudding (kinda felt like the end of the night/pan scraps - kinda burnt) : I'd ordered a slice of Peach Cobbler but it was sold out by the time it was dessert serving so I was offered an option of pecan pie or chocolate buttermilk pie - I chose the pecan (it reminded me of a turtles bar which I was happy with - heavy on the pecans). Which was on the house, thank you. I would give them a 6/10. Just because of the commercial BBQ flavor. If you go anywhere in Austin you'll know this is vastly different. But, meets the needs for a BBQ fix. Thank you! I took the leftovers home & made a breakfast hash with the Brisket & it was delicious & redeemed the taste review . #blogger #browngirlbloggers #aroundseattle #southking #southseattle #foodie #foodblogger

Great service and excellent food! We went for the first time a couple of weeks ago and tried the brisket, pork, greens, and fruit pie. Everything was so good but that chili is BOMB

We love Jack's! Best brisket, best cornbread, great sides. The people make the whole experience! The night we brought friends we closed the place down and the servers didn't even say anything. My husband noticed and we got up and thanked them and they were so gracious.Parking: Never had a problem finding a spot.Wheelchair accessibility: All one floor.

Went on a Friday night at 7pm. Party of 2. No wait. Loved the casual feel of the place. Service was great. We had the Spiked Smoked Sweet Tea as a cocktail and it was very good. For dinner we had the Prime Rib, Blue Cheese Burger and as an appetizer we had the chips and queso.Everything tasted great. Will definitely be back.

The location is a little out of the way as it's south of Seattle but the food is worth the commute. When you enter the establishment you're engulfed in the smoked food flavor which gets you salivating from then on. The service was exceptional, our waitress was pleasant, attentive, and knowledgeable of all things BBQ. We order a bunch of food from the brisket, and recommended the Austin cut over the Dallas chop. We also had pulled pork, corn bread, collard greens, slaw, and some pickles. The food was exceptional, and if you're looking for Texas style BBQ in the area look no further.
