We showed up at 1, sat ourselves as directed, and ordered at the counter by 1.10. At 2, we checked to see the progress, as no one had even brought drinks or said anything. 2.15 we got our food. I wasn't impressed. Then we watched another group come & they were seated by the server, given napkins, drinks, and waited on. They got their food within 20 minutes. I'm not sure why there was such a stark difference in service for us, but it was very disappointing.

We took an unexpected trip to Anderson Island. Super adventure! Stopped at the Anderson Island Cafe and ate lunch. Had the fish and chips and the steak salad. Both were delicious! Quaint little Cafe, good service, great day!

Cute spot, only cafe on the island so can't be picky. Service wasn't great. Menu said Vegan options, but there wasn't really any. Had a very bland, very boring plate and coffee wasn't good. It's a cute place, but don't go there for food or don't expect too much.

Wonderful employees, and good food. They have lots of drink options, and they hold special events like themed movie nights that are really fun.

Prices are nuts for what you get. $38 originally, then change to $51 for a 75 cent charge per egg. My burrito ended up being $13 and it's smaller than my hand; complete rip off.

It also smelled terrible in there (very dirty), so much so all customers waited in their cars.

Above and beyond the worst breakfast I’ve ever had in my life. Spit it out after the first bite.

Sorry locals but it’s has to be shared this is the most amazing cafe I have been to in a long time. The fish and chips in my opinion has made IVARS GO TO SHAME! Great family friendly and children friendly cafe. If you’re on Anderson and you do not stop here to get a bite to eat or a snack shame on you. Best baked goods in the area and better then main land for sure we will be coming back to Anderson to visit again because of this little spot 5 stars all the way around thank you for your amazing cafe

I don’t know what has happened to this plce in recent years but two of my last visits have been pretty inexcusable given the incredibly high cost of this place. A couple weeks ago i dropped in on Sunday for a to go lunch order around 11am for five people, and after a young man took our order we were informed by the cook that actually they don’t make lunch until noon or later and we could come back for our food in an hour. There is nothing on their website or any of the copious internal signage indicating this time limit. We intended to eat the food while waiting for the noon ferry, so we asked for a refund and began messaging our group back at the house for their breakfast menu orders instead. The young man and cook could not figure out how to refund my order to my card for some time and eventually refunded me in cash after an older woman arrived to help them.

We then used this cash to enter a new order from the breakfast menu which took quite some time to eventually come out of the kitchen even though there was nobody else ordering food ahead of us for the nearly entire hour we had been there at that point. When we got the food back to the group, the sausage gravy on my biscuits had not been seasoned. It contained no sausage, no pepper, no anything. It was just milk and flour. The sausage gravy on my sister’s meal however was seasoned. It made zero sense and was quite disgusting. Insult to injury for a meal that was very expensive, not what we originally went there to order, and then a wildly long wait.

My partner and I stopped in yesterday (Saturday) for coffee and a young lady made us our drinks — they were delicious!! My chai latte was perfection and my partner was very happy with his coffee. I figured our last experience was a fluke and I didn’t have to write off fifty percent of the restaurants on the island to avoid wasting my money. I love supporting local business even at a premium, but do need the quality to be there. This time it was!

So we went back today — another Sunday morning. It was the same young man and cook from our disastrous lunch order two weeks prior but we ordered anyway: the spiced chai latte and the autumn delight (some kind of butterscotch white mocha) from the seasonal specials, and a plain bagel with extra cream cheese. The autumn delight was okay, though the coffee was burnt. The spiced chai latte tasted like… nothing. It smelled of mulling spices, but four of us tried it and everyone agreed that it tasted like water. Hot, barely flavored water. Like a warmed up flat holiday seltzer. When i went to eat the bagel there was barely any cream cheese at all — not even enough to put a thin layer over the entire surface of both halves. Our friend had gone to the cafe earlier that morning and gotten a bagel, inspiring my order. Despite specifically asking for extra cream cheese i had less than half of what my friend had had on his just half an hour prior.

I don’t know what is going on with this particular crew for Sunday morning shift, but I am regretting the $200 i have spent over my past two Sunday visits. Given that our friends visited less than an hour before us and had a good experience, it is also starting to g to feel a bit personal. I don’t live on the island full time to have had any “beef” with either of these men, or had any “Karen” type interactions as a result of my experiences. I just can’t figure out the pattern at this point. But I think I am done trying.

Food is surprisingly good for a spot that has a complete corner on the local market! They also have a beautiful selection of local, handmade arts like greeting cards, jewelry, even a literary magazine with stories, essays and poems from the island. Lovely cultural spot!

Celebrated our anniversary on Anderson Island. We arrived hungry and found this café thank God they had food. Wife had a salmon burger and I had the roast beef sandwich. Onion rings were available without a marked up price. Food was tasty, the employees were friendly and cheerful. They all could carry a tune as well. Thanks for helping make our anniversary extra special. We liked it so much, we came back for dessert!
