National Park Inn Dining Room

Dining here today was an absolute mess. Told us 15-20 minutes, waited an hour. Mind you, out of 16 indoor tables, 4 were filled. So we had an hour wait time for?

Service was the worst I’ve had. Once finally sat, no one came to our table for at least 15 minutes. Not sure if they’re short staffed or just untrained, but it was terrible. Once we finally got food it was fine. Good enough after a hike, nothing to write home about.

This place could MOP up cash with how busy this park is, but they simply don’t know how to run a business and don’t care because they’ll always be there.

The Ceasar salad tasted days old. It never should have been served. It took a long time for our order to be taken and we had to request the bill 4 times. They weren't even busy.

Unfortunately I had to give 1 star because we got served shrimp that was raw in the middle. We were also served butternut squash (or similar vegetable) that was not fully cooked

We stopped in after exploring Mt Rainier. We both ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and fries. The food was very good and the service was great.

We spotted this cozy place while driving past and stopped immediately, as we were starving after a snowy hike to the waterfalls (April 10, 2026 at 5:00PM). We loved the atmosphere!😍🌲🪵The restaurant was nearly empty by evening, and we were seated and served right away. We also asked for a recommendation on which wine to choose, and the server suggested a truly delicious one.

We were also craving something hot, so I opted for the soup of the day which turned out to be tomato soup 🍅🍲 (pictured here as the 6 oz cup). My friend ordered a mushroom ciabatta and we happily split it between us and left feeling completely satisfied.

I should also mention that seating was available both indoors and outdoors.

Plenty of parking spaces available.

There were no other places to eat within the park grounds (or perhaps there were, but everything else had already closed).

We ate here back on July 17th 2025 and we sat on the front porch with that gorgeous view in my photos. I got an alcoholic hot chocolate which was to die for and the food was very filling and amazing! We would definitely come back and we talk about it really often!

Really enjoyed the service and food, Dee was our server! She was attentive and helpful. We had the blackberry cobbler which was DELICIOUS and the salmon, also delicious, and the Waygu burger. Throughly enjoyed it after a long hike.

We went for an early dinner today. The menu claimed that the burger was waygu beef and they charged $28 for it. It was mediocre at best and was over cooked. I’ve had much better burgers at Applebees for half the price. The buffalo meatloaf was charred and dry. The French fries were crinkle fries from a bag. This places only saving grace was it was the only restaurant within several miles. Definitely cornering the market for the park. Overpriced and not worth it. Our waitress was very friendly though so made it experience a bit better.

Amusement park quality burger and fries for $40. Hardly edible, I ate about half before I gave up.

We came for dinner there on August 18th. The restaurant was pretty much empty, but they still made us to wait for 30 min just to be sited. The waiter was very slow and inattentive. My pasta and salmon were served barely warm. I didn’t feel like he deserved any tips, but we still left some for him. I was checking my charges at my bank account and saw that the charge was more than I authorized. So, the waiter added some extra tip for himself!

Stood and waited over 5 minutes as several employees ignored us before being told I had 20 minute wait. After a twenty minute wait I was seated between the door and kitchen. My daughter got her chili, then we got the check before my meal! They forgot about me but not my money. Food was good but potions suck.

We had a great meal here with our large group. They did an excellent job with both the food and the service. This post is about a little old, but I'm sure they are still doing a wonderful job. Our server was a Rockstar...
