We got the fried cheese, sweet potato tacos, and the whiskey burger with garlic fries! Everything was delicious and the burger I particular was to die for. Cannot recommend enough.
Great spot! Burgers were very delicious. Get the parm fries with garlic aioli dip. One thing they could do better is getting rid of those flies. Aside from that I’d definitely go back for the burgers
Honestly floored by how good the burger was. It was exactly what I needed after a long day of hiking Rainier. I stopped in thinking I'd get a beer and a just so-so bar burger. I was pleasantly surprised. Staff was awesome and attentive. Really the only criticism is the atmosphere, it's just bland. If they embrace their name, and focus on a hikery, homely feel then they'd be unstoppable. Can't wait to go back!
We ordered to go after a tiring day at Mt Rainier, it was quick. For a remote place, the food was good and fresh. We got the fish tacos, the house salad and vegan burger all three were good. It was a big place, bar atmosphere it had a pool table but didn't see anyone playing.
The burgers were some of the freshest and juiciest I’ve ever had! The salad and blackberry pie was good too. They like their music loud, but that was fun too
First and foremost, the owner needs to invest in a roadside sign. I can't imagine how many customers he has lost because of that. I drove past this place three times looking for it before I knew what it was.My wife and I ordered the chicken burger to go. She got grilled and I got fried. Bother were delicious. I added mushrooms to my burger. I got the beer cheese fries and my wife got the garlic Parmesan. I thought the garlic Parmesan fries were a little heavy when I tried it, but both were still delicious and flavorful. I would definitely recommend eating here. They also have a bar and are open until 12 am I believe.
Exactly what you would expect. Great food, super friendly staff, and some good beer. Great place to stop after a day of hiking.
Great burgers and selection of beers. Very friendly and good service. Don't be put off by the outside.
I was in town to photograph an elopement at Mount Rainier and food tends to be my crux when traveling for work because I don’t get done until after the sun goes down — and in small mountain towns and national park gateways it’s to be expected that things close really early. The Trailhead surprised me!!I ate there twice during my visit; the first night I had the fish tacos, house salad (the half was huge!) and then I had the chicken tenders to top it off. It was relatively fast, the staff was kind and pleasant, and the food was delicious.I got off the mountain the second night assuming I’d be eating granola bars in my hotel room but ended up stopping when I saw they were still open. I rolled in at 9:45 and they happily served me off of their late night menu. I had the fish and chips (amazing) and the Summer Salad.I asked my server about their hours (since Google says 12-12) and she shared they open at 4 and try to stay open until 11 most nights. They don’t often close before 10 in the summer, but winter is harder. This is a 21+ only establishment, so that’s worth noting. 100% worth a takeout order for a family though, it was great food and affordable. $12 for 4 fish tacos??? I’m not in California anymore! Can’t wait to come back next time!
This was my 2nd visit to this restaurant and it was great both times. Friendly staff, good food. One of the few places open late (til midnight, or things get slow). Perfect stop after watching sunset in MRNP! I got the Classic Cheeseburger with a beer both times (boring right?... however, I might just get same again next time :-) as it hits the spot after a long day of hiking. Their cold desserts looked delicious, but I was eating at 10pm and car camping, so will have to try another time. Oh, they have internet too, to check emails, or text the family a beautiful snapshot before you move on. Will 100% be back.

Great cozy restaurant with an Americana vibe. Food is absolutely fantastic: the burgers are great and the cheese curds are a must-have appetizer. To sum this place up: it’s the perfect place for a good bite to eat after a long day’s hike!
This is pub food without a doubt. I had fish and chips. Good portion. I had a side of coleslaw that was about thimble sized. Patrons near us were having burgers which were huge. Service was good, but the LOUD country western juke box music was horrible!
The Trailhead should be a must-stop for anyone visiting Ashford or just passing through on their way to Mt. Rainier. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. I highly recommend the cheese curds appetizer. They are arguably the best I’ve had outside Wisconsin. I had the fish and chips, which were pretty good, and my girlfriend had the classic cheeseburger, which she enjoyed. She was looking forward to the Elk Burger, but unfortunately they were out at the time of our visit.
Atmosphere is a small town diner/icehouse. Service was friendly and fast. For the food we did not have high expectations because we were worried it would be mediocre food for tourists coming from Mt. Ranier. We were wrong. Looked like lots of locals eating here. Excellent pub food that exceeded expectations. I got the whiskey sauce burger with garlic parmesan fries. The burger was well cooked and sauced. The fries had actual minced garlic and parmesan, not just dusted with a powder. I also tried someone's sweet potato fries, which I normally don't love, but these were great. They were sliced just the right thinness.
Don't let the exterior deter you-- the food is incredible. We ate there two days in a row. Fish tacos and burgers are a 10+. The fries are really good, too. The service was great; friendly and prompt.
