The BEST place to get a Sammy on the island. Really creative and refreshing recipes.
Best sandwich ever!
Probably the best sandwich I ever had.
Amazing meal at this shop! The sandwich I had was literally one of the best I’ve ever had- sliced chicken! So delish! And one of the owners, Brandon, was there cooking up our food and was so personable and kind. Highly recommend this restaurant.
🌟🥪 A Cherry-on-Top Sandwich Dream at Sauce Nouvelle! 🥪🌟
Bainbridge Island, WA
If you find yourself on Bainbridge Island and don’t go to Sauce Nouvelle, I’m genuinely concerned for your taste buds. This little sandwich sanctuary is crafting gourmet handheld miracles—and the Rainier Cherry Ribeye Beef sandwich? Oh. My. Flavor.
Let’s break it down:
Tender, juicy ribeye (like, close-your-eyes-and-moan good) paired with the subtle sweet zing of Rainier cherries, as if your sandwich took a scenic ferry ride through flavor country. Add in garlic aioli that slaps in the best possible way, pickled red onions with just enough sass, and a handful of peppery arugula for balance—and you’ve got a love letter to your mouth.
Oh, and it’s all hugged lovingly by a perfectly crusty-on-the-outside, pillowy-on-the-inside ciabatta roll. This isn’t a sandwich. It’s an edible mic drop.
The staff? Chill and charming, like if Wes Anderson directed a deli.
The vibe? Rustic meets artsy with just enough quirk to feel cool without trying too hard.
Final verdict?
11/10. Would swim to Bainbridge if the ferry broke down.
This sandwich deserves its own lighthouse.
Go. Order the Rainier Cherry Ribeye.
Tell them your taste buds sent you.
For $18 a half sandwich is not it. Ordered a kiwi pork sandwich and it was just a generic pulled pork sandwich
This small, unassuming sandwich shop in The Cove off Winslow Wy in downtown Bainbridge Island was a very delicious surprise. My husband and I split an Herbed Turkey BLT. Although it took a while, the end result was definitely worth waiting for! The fresh baguette it was served on was divine with a melted cheese and a finger lickin’ sauce! The side of coleslaw was the perfect compliment and a healthy option to the typical offering of carb heavy chips or fries.
The space is small, but there are tables around the corner in the alleyway.
I will definitely be returning ASAP to try more sandwiches. The dark chocolate salted cookie was great too!
Best sandwiches I've ever eaten, hands down. We went there only because there were long lines at the other eateries. Sauce Nouvelle is in downtown Winslow, tucked into the back of The Cove,
These guys made sandwiches and slaw with amazing tastes that I'd never even thought of. There is a reason they're the only place in town with a perfect five-star rating.
There's side slaw has a yuzu dressing that is off the charts, amazing! If they sold the dressing, I'd definitely stock up. It's no side slaw; totally co-star.
The Chicken Curry Sandwich with banana curry sauce is off the charts amazing too! I love the tastes and contrast between the curry and the banana. Very balanced and tasty sandwich. That'll be unlike anything you've had before.
Then there's the Roast Beef & Mascarpone Hummus sandwich. This is such an amazing roast beef sandwich. You have to try it to believe it. I don't know how they did it, but it is soooo good!!
These guys are a little bit mad scientist. Check out the lab equipment to use to extract primo taste that other people think is impossible. And they're great guys to talk to.
If you're in line at the of one of the other eateries on the island, step out, go over to this place. You will not be disappointed. You will have one of the most amazing taste experiences of your life guaranteed! And their prices are surprisingly low for what you're gonna get.
Wow! My vegan sandwich of the day was so delicious! If Sauce Nouvelle was open later I seriously would have come back and ordered it again!! I have a severe dairy allergy and it is very difficult for me to eat out. Nicholas made me feel very comfortable that he would ensure no cross-contamination.
My friend had the corn relish corn beef sandwich and she loved hers as well.
Thank you, Nicholas, for such a wonderful meal!

Food was amazing! There was a lot of great flavors and creative meals. The service was great to everyone working there was very nice. So good I had to come back the day after I had it the first time. The menu is on the smaller side but this is likely because they take the time to source quality/fresh ingredients.

Absolutely top notch stuff going on all around at Sauce Nouvelle. We tried the peach chicken and corn relish corn beef. While both were amazing, I preferred the corn beef sandwich cause good LORD was it fantastic. Toothy corn relish, tender beef, wonderful sauce. Wow.
And the cookies?! The chocolate chip cookies are absolutely out of this world, very different but on par with the level of deliciousness of The Cookie from Met Market. I came back the next day to buy 3 more to bring home.
Finally the staff - these folks are knowledgeable, welcoming and really know what they’re doing. Can’t wait to eat my way through the whole menu!

Some pictures show a baguette used for the sandwiches, or a large sized contra. What is currently being used a a ~4x4 ciabatta and around a ~1/3 cup of slaw. It is probably well suited for light appetites. The vegetarian sandwich was a sweet potato patty. It was very annoying to buy a sandwich for a meal and have it be basically a stack of carbs with no protein. Adding back beans or quinoa would have added a satiety to the meal. The flavors of the sandwich were excellent; it was just so insubstantial and unsatisfying. Sprinkle cookie was bad too. Bad quality butter? Stale? My wife liked her meat sandwich though, and it had a substantial enough amount of meat to make it a meal.
Vegetarian options: Insubstantial and not well considered; no protein

Incredibly good and amazing service. We had the corned beef and venison sandwiches, and both were unlike anything I have ever had before. The flavors put together are very thoughtful and delicious. We loved the mango chutney paired with corn and corned beef! Also, my husband has a peanut and tree nut allergy, and they don't use any nuts in the kitchen.
Dietary restrictions: There are no peanuts or tree nuts in their kitchen. Also any allergies were clearly labeled on the menu.
