This was one of my favorite restaurants last year, but now it seems something has changed and the food tastes terrible! Never had Vada pav that was so much dipped in butter! Dahi ke kabab? They were just oily coins, and the two-bite samosas were the cherry on the top! Chole bature has also lost its taste. And now we are bloated for entire night.
The only constant best thing is their tea!

Great find thanks to Matt Norman’s recommendation on his YouTube channel. The flavors were spot on and we love how you can order a full order or half order so you can try everything. The tandoori chicken has a lovely marinade so it is moist and super flavorful. This is our go-to local Indian spot from now on!

I visited Café Bollywood about 9 months ago with my friends, and we loved that it was open till midnight. Back then, I tried the Vada Pav, Chai, Dahi Puri, Dahi Papadi, Samosa Chaat, and especially the Chicken Biryani — which I ordered multiple times because the chicken was tender and the rice was flavorful and perfectly cooked. The food had a strong, comforting Indian touch.
Recently, I ordered takeout again, but the experience felt different. The Chicken Biryani was quite dry and noticeably less flavorful. I also tried the Dahi Puri — all the ingredients were very cold, so it didn’t taste like the authentic version I remembered (though the flavor itself was still decent). The Paneer Pakora was good, but the Bhel Puri tasted off — almost flavorless, like eating just mixture with tomato and onion. They did replace it, but something still felt missing.
Overall, I feel the taste and quality have changed compared to my experience 9 months ago. I hope the old flavors come back!

Nice and coozy
If you’re craving authentic Bengali flavors, I can’t recommend Cafe Bollywood enough! From the comforting aroma of Kolkata Style Mutton Biriyani, Koraishutir Kochuri, Rui Macher Kalia to the melt-in-your-mouth Kosha Mangsho, every dish feels like a trip back home. The food is rich, perfectly spiced, and beautifully balanced — just like a true Bengali meal should be.
Highly recommend this place to anyone craving real Bengali food!

My fav chaat place in downtown. Great food. Cheap prices. Gorgeous outdoor seating. Highly recommended. Their samosa and samosa chat is to die for.

came here looking to eat on a budget and for indian food (being usually super expensive), i got a good meal around $15! the samosas are a must if you’re visiting for the first time! 8oz servings are amazing for 1 person!
the owner and staff are super kind and welcoming! i’ll definitely come back for more!

Don’t go here for the service or atmosphere; it is bare bones. The food is fantastic though. Honestly, I’ve never had such amazing Indian food in my life. The paneer tikka masala is incredible. The samosa chaat is the tastiest disgusting looking thing I’ve ever eaten. Seriously, it looks like barf, but tastes like a mouth orgasm. I can’t get enough of their gulab jamun either. Highly recommend!!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great Food & Vibe, but Biryani Missed the Mark
Cafe Bollywood has a warm, lively vibe and serves some fantastic dishes. The samosas were crispy, flavorful, and perfectly spiced — definitely a highlight. Overall, the food was fresh and tasty, and the service was friendly.
The only letdown was the biryani, which tasted quite sour and didn’t have the depth of flavor I was expecting. Everything else was spot on, so I’d still come back — just probably skip the biryani next time.
