Ordered clams and chips and a seafood combo to go. When I got home and opened the order I was very disappointed! Seafood combo was great. Clams and chips were the worst I’ve ever had. The clams looked like they had been in the deep fryer two or three times. They were so had I couldn’t even bite into them. We eat at this location frequently. I’m thinking twice before going back!

Food was fresh and good but wow the prices were high and the fish are so tiny. I asked for some normal size pieces after the disappointment I experienced last time and the cashier didn’t apologize or acknowledge the issue. He also didn’t seem to actually do anything about my request because he never said a word to the cook. Pieces were better but still small.

I've had their cod a dozen or more times and it's always juicy and fresh, and their tar tar pairs with the fish pefectly. Don't miss out on the clam strips too, snappy and salty and clean-tasting. Also give the white chowder a try. I know it's the new england style while PNW local specialty is smoked salmon chowder. But after trying them all many times, it's the white chowder I go back to time and time again, even getting tubs from costco. Ivar's is a Seattle staple that lives up to the reputation, and it's there on my mind when I miss Seattle.
