Lots of really good sushi rolls. Variety of appetizers, and great drinks at the bar. This place is fairly large but you might need to wait for a table when its busy.

I’ve been here multiple times and ordered from them plenty on Uber eats. This last time I ordered, one of the rolls had solid black avocado in it with burnt, charred shrimp pieces as well. The other roll had black avocado and gray tuna. As much as I love Japonessa, I will not be returning.

I decided to have my meal at the bar, and let me tell you, it was a culinary adventure that didn’t require a passport or a designated driver. The food was so delicious that it could make even the most seasoned food critic do a happy dance, and it was served faster than you can say “last call.” I was halfway through my second drink before I realized my plate was empty, which is a testament to both the quality and the speed of the service.

The fact that parking is free after 8 pm is a godsend, especially since it usually costs more than a round of drinks. I mean, who wants to spend their hard-earned cash on a parking spot when you could be spending it on something that actually makes you smile? My friends and I were their last Saturday. Overall, the food is good. However, we only realized there is a credit card surcharge after we got the print receipt. We then asked the server, she said she also just realized the credit card surcharge fee was starting on that day (3/1/2025). which is ridiculous, aren't they supposed to make some note when customers come into the restaurant.

Although I don't eat raw sushi I found many non raw options that were very tasty. I highly recommend the Calamari Japonessa! The service is great and the staff very polite and helpful!
