Was on the hunt for single origin & a bonus of getting a pourover. This checked all the boxes. Coffee was delicious and top tier. Be prepared to pay much higher prices likely paying for his space in a high rise in bellevue. Note coffee bag size, though getting top tier coffee. Learned after my visit he was a top roaster nationally.
I’ve been longing to finally visit Story Coffee, and it was totally worth the wait. It easily puts them in my top 4 specialty coffee shops in Seattle, alongside Homage, Day Made, and Slow Day.
I tried the Janson Washed Geisha from Panama, and it was excellent — beautifully prepared and a really enjoyable cup. Wong also did a fantastic job with the pour-over and, just as importantly, made me feel genuinely welcome.

Story Coffee almost makes Bellevue worth it.
Hunkered shyly among the glittering corporate hellscape of Bellevue, this jewel of a coffee shop is a joyful discovery. Baristas are soft-toned, at once reserved and considerate, and they absolutely smash the coffee drinks.
I’ve been here 3-4 times now while waiting through a family member’s medical appointments. While I invariably stand out like a shambling golem in work pants...
