Ordered their Tuna Melt and Lavender Honey latte while my partner got a reuben with a Chai latte. Both sandwiches were absolutely delicious, and the beverages were great. Loved the little cinnamon shooting star on his. Super cute. The dill in the tuna was delish. Probably would have skipped the chips. Not that they were bad, just big sandwiches paired with 16oz lattes left me already super full, so the chips were a little unnecessary. Was a little loud, but every cafe downtown on the weekend is going to be so that's kind of out of their hands.

We are from Vancouver BC Canada, and recently ate there after checking out the Bellingham Antique Mall across the street on Railroad Avenue. I like sandwiches so this was an ideal place for a bite to eat.I ordered the "Californian" sandwich which had free-range chicken, bacon, avocado, tomato, sprouts & ranch on toasted Ciabatta . The server asked if I would like some chips to go with it, and I said 'yes'. (the chips were kettle potato chips). I also ordered a cup of their soup of the day which was Tomato Dill soup. My friend only ordered a coffee. We arrived on a Sunday, around 1:45 pm. There were only 5 customers seated so the place was pretty empty. I assume we came just after the lunch/brunch crowd left, hence got there during their downtime. The place was spacious with lots of seats. I was waiting for my sandwich which seemed to take a lot longer than I expected. I was expecting it in 10 minutes time but when I had waited at least 20 minutes, I started to ponder since there weren't many walk in customers while we waited so not sure why it was taking so long. it seems there was only one prep person at their kitchen. The kitchen is an open kitchen and and well set up. You can tell from the set up they probably would have had more prep staff during their busy lunch time crowd but now it's their downtime, so only one person. They were also taking in some take out orders so I am giving them the benefit of the doubt. Anyhow, we waited about 25 minutes and my order was finally served. The sandwich was very tasty and fresh and the tomato dill soup was good, too. Afterwards, I also ordered a hot chocolate to go.I think I will check out their other locations for comparison purposes on our next visit to Bellingham.I am not that familiar with the downtown area and it was our first time checking out their downtown area. We walked from the Old City Hall Museum on Holly Street to this location on Railroad Avenue and noticed it had a few sketchy people and buskers loitering on the E. Holly St & Railroad. As we were walking out, we noticed 3 cops standing on Holly St (which is good). The situation (see a few sketchy people) is nothing too alarming as I have seen worse in other cities.I am glad we discovered this place.

Eggenues are to die for, would highly recommend. Also just about anything on the menu is amazing and overall decently priced.

Extremely good food! Got the Gruff grinder and chips, and they have great local coffee too. Inside the restaurant is a real vibe too. 10/10

Bread tastes good, but I just got another loaf and saw something blue/purple baked in into it. I dug it out and it was the tip of a rubber glove. Gross.

Horrible, horrible place. One of the workers here threatened and nearly assaulted my dad and then threatened to call the police on my family for no reason.

After 10+ years of supporting this business, a sour, and rude experience has ruined this establishment for my family and I. The only other customer in the establishment witnessed what happened and was left stunned.A shame. This was one of my families favorite breakfast spots. We will not be coming back.Edit: this happened between 10:30 AM - 11:00 AM 9/11/23. Downtown Location.

Good food however, I was not a fan of the overwhelming smell of marijuana coming from the kitchen today. I didn't want to take any chances of testing hot at work, so I hightailed it out of there. I have been there two other times and never smelled it the other two times that I have been there. I don't want to go back and find out if it will happen again though.
