Only place to get ny bagels. But 3 problems. I’ll go in order of least to most importance:
-inconsistent timing. Could take 2 mins, could take 45 for same order. And often, an exact order (bagel w cc for example, exact same time to prepare no matter bagel type) will come out first from someone who orders after.
-inconsistent prep. Sometimes it’s prepared deliciously. Sometimes you ask for it toasted and it’s just not. Sometimes the butter is caked on and not melted. Sometimes there’s too much cc and sometimes not enough.
-and what I consider the absolute biggest problem and one that points to a MAJOR SAFETY concern. I have witnessed on at least three occasions food dropped off to a customer in a to go bag that is then PICKED BACK UP FROM THE PERSON and explained that they gave the first customer the wrong order. This same bag is then delivered to the correct customer. This place should be shut down for this. If that happens, you remake the damn food. And why is it happening so much besides? If it continues to happen, I will be reporting to the health dept. and frankly I may do that anyway.

We arrived here for breakfast. There was a line but it moved fast. We ordered egg salad bagel sandwich, lox bagel sandwich and a garlic and butter sandwich. The bagels were outstanding - crunchy yet chewy. The egg salad was super fresh while the lox bagel was creamy and bright. The staff were nice and attentive. The hype is real - and they have a lot of bagel choices. The place is big and roomy, with a lot of tables.
I’ve been a bagelry fan for 30+ years. I used to give it a glowing review! Unfortunately recently it hasn’t been great. I don’t know if it’s the new owners or whats going on. I usually order a bakers dozen, just 13 bagels in a bag to go. It consistently takes 20-30 minutes for this to happen. I even watch the people who ordered after me get their bagel sandwich or to go order well before me. This most recent time I ordered my bakers dozen but had them cut and had a soup and bagel with a smear of cheese along with it and it took 35 minutes. The bagels are still tasty but aren’t really worth the wait and cost anymore. It’s also super weird going into a restaurant with a bunch of staff masked up, very off putting. Can the old bham vibe please come back?
Place has gone steadily downhill since Ken and Marguerite left. New owners are standoffish and aloof, and that sets the tone for the entire staff.
Over and over again, there can be a long line, and they’ll run one register only. Staff studiously ignore guests. How they can have as many people as they do working a shift and not make the folks coming through the door center stage is beyond me. Maybe they’re channeling famously snotty NYC delis or something.
I keep coming because the bagels still rock

Great place for lunch in downtown Bellingham. They have a relaxed atmosphere, and while it's busy most days during lunch, there are lots of tables and we've always been able to find one. Their bagels are really good and there are lots of flavors to choose from. They always have quite a few flavors of cream cheese, including different seasonal and special limited time offerings. There are usually soups, sides (like pasta salad), and baked goods available as well. This is a great place for a quick delicious lunch that is very popular with locals!

Great bagels!
Best bagel in Washington. Lunch is busy, but I view that as a good sign. A variety of bagels, I got a Swiss cheese bagel sandwich which was the special delicious. My white bagel-eating child adventurously tried the what bagel, and is requesting them daily!!! (Thanks, Bagelry!). Always easy to find a close parking spot on Railroad. I wish I’d discovered it sooner.

I am a bagel lover. When I give into grabbing one when traveling, I like to look for a local spot and check it out and support. My order is usually a normal or egg bagel, toasted, plain cream cheese, cucumbers, and sprouts. I asked if they had the ingredients and they did! So excited. To me, the options of bagels were- ok. Everyone was nice and the place was a well ran. But when I got to eating my bagel, I was disappointed. It was hard, seemed almost like day old honestly. I loved the sprouts and fresh cucumbers. But I would say this was bagel overall sucked. I might comeback to give it one more chance, but I wasn’t too impressed.

Went in to grab a quick bite before the No King’s Day protest and received with my order an entire bag filled with bagels and cream cheese for hungry community members! They always go above and beyond with their service and I will always recommend them to visitors looking for a Bellingham classic. Thank you Bagelry! <3

These are not bagels. They are pucks. Flavorless pucks. I nearly had to get a chainsaw out to slice them. I can’t understand how they are still open.

I went into this establishment a couple of weeks ago with my service Animal with his vest on and was told because i have a dog that i was not going to be served and to leave, they wouldn't let me explain I have PTSD and agoraphobia and I was told I had to leave. I WILL NEVER.
GO BACK TO THE BAGELRY AGAIN.
