Great food - I love that they brought out all the entries for our party of 6 people at once. I ordered the chimichanga and liked it - nice visual presentation, flavor, size/portion, etc. Hot sauce could be a bit hotter with more varieties, but was still good. Highly recommend this place. Some weird unexpected biblical quotes (e.g. Joshua 1:9) on cups and walls, but not intrusive. Bordertown Mexican Grill is a great place for Mexican food in Bellingham. The food is amazingly fresh, with fantastic fresh flavors, and everything is made from scratch. The chimichanga has a nice visual presentation, flavor, and size. The Cali Burrito (Steak) and Chile Relleno A LA Carte come with incredible taste, and the food stays hot even after picking it up and driving away from downtown. The breakfast tacos are great with white potatoes, eggs, and bacon, and the breakfast burrito is yummy with meat cooked and spiced to perfection. The street tacos (carnitas and pollo), rice and beans, and birria queso tacos are flavorful and delightful. The horchata is really tasty, and the Jamaica is a must-try. The salsas are so delicious that bottles are available for purchase. The service is fast, and the workers are super kind. The tables and interior ambiance make it easy to have good conversations and relax with friends over a meal. Prices are reasonable, though portion size based on price is an issue. Overall, this is a highly recommended place and a breathe of fresh air.
