Amazing for vegans and non-vegans alike. So much care and attention brought to the vegan experience, and ensuring that accommodations are made. Best vegan Mexican food I’ve ever had, easily. Flavours are amazing, food is well made and thought out. You can tell a lot of care and attention has been put into the development of the menu and operations. Staff are friendly and helpful, owner is delightful. I drive all the way from Vancouver for this place and it is beyond worth it.

Pretty good food. quick turnaround. They do run out of specific tamales most days, so if you want a specific one, maybe go earlier in the day. They offer dairy free sour cream and cheese, which is nice!Dietary restrictions: gluten and dairy free options

We both liked the texture and flavor of the tamales. The meat is a less flavorful component but made up for with other ingredients. The flautas, also delicious, were topped with crema and avocado condiment and cooked perfectly. The krispy taco's were similarly cooked as the flautas and served with your choice of two sides. We tasted the chicken and green chile more than hominy in the pozole. The ultra tender hominy made for a textural contrast my wife prefers and the staff noted is from a can but lacking the artificial ingredients found in many grocery store versions. The Mexican rice, though fluffy textured, had an overwhelming saline broth aftertaste. The refried beans were very deep and richly flavored while the other bean side seemed somehow washed of flavor. The red salsa, this day, was similar to tomato water and the acidic white vinegar base of the green salsa left my spice cravings unfulfilled.

Best tamales I’ve ever had, excellent flautas and wet burritos, chilaquiles are always good and the chips and queso are a great snack. I worked for New Mexico Tamale Company in Ferndale back in late 2020 during COVID before they moved to Bellingham. Dora takes great care of her employees and always offered us free excellent food on our breaks. No restaurant nearby can even get close to the quality of New Mexican food this place offers, and the level of eco-friendly care that comes with the packaging truly shows that they care about the environment. The salads are excellent and the house made crema and avocado cilantro sauce are to die for. Only complaint is that I had to get the covid vaccine in December 2020 as per New Mexico Tamale Company policy.

I'm from New Mexico and was thrilled to find this place although I was skeptical. New Mexico food in Washington? Well I wasn't disappointed. Dora the owner is from Deming and it shows!New Mexico food is unique. It's not "Mexican food" per say but came about from centuries of interaction between ancient Spanish, Native and Mexican cultures and the chile (not chili) is the heart. Chile is like wine grapes in that it carries the flavor and character of the region where it's grown. Red chile from the Mesilla Valley for example tastes different than red chile from the Chimayo region. Being from Deming not far from the Mesilla Valley, Dora uses genuine "Hatch" chile from that region. Contrary to popular marketing, there is no such place as the Hatch Valley. Hatch is a town in the Mesilla Valley and is considered the chile capitol of the world. If you're expecting Mexican food like what you would get in California or Arizona, this isn't it. This food is the simple, chile based food of the Land of Enchantment. I had one red and one green pork tamale and they were excellent, as were the whole beans on the side. The red chile is some of the best I've ever had, even in New Mexico. They even have sopaipillas, a sweet, fried dough pocket served with honey as a dessert. New Mexico ex-pats will not be disappointed! This is the real deal.
