Very small with a limited menu. Only maybe 4 entrees to choose from. Food and service were just okay. Nothing seemed special or to stand out. If there was any real standout, it was the cocktails. There are better places.

Best fine dining in Bellingham. The intimate setting is the perfect place for a date or if you craving good food. The prices are very affordable and the staff is extremely attentive.

Here's the deal. I have been to so many restaurants, all over the world. I love food. I love the story it tells. And I love people who cook. We came to town for a couple days and this is the first place we tried. Hands down, with out a doubt, one of my favorite meals I've ever had at a restaurant. I'm not going to get into an argument about skill, or variables that aren't controllable. Whoever is making the food here clearly loves food, and loves to share it with people. The staff was warm and inviting. The drinks were interesting and well composed. But the food. I had halibut. There was a nice romesco something or other first on the plate. Then some perfectly charred asparagus. A handful of fingerlings sliced once, cooked simply. The fish was beautiful. Not much more than salt and pepper and a meaningful sear. Nothing pretentious, just letting the ingredient sing. An small toss or micro greens on top for freshness. After a few bites, I caught some flake salt and I realized the chef is my soulmate. Just so many little things done right. Each bite was a choose your own adventure. Just a joy to eat. The lasagna was clearly freshly made. The tomato sauce sang, and each layer met with the next. Wish we had come earlier so I wouldn't have felt too guilty to order dessert. So thankful for this meal, and the people who prepared it. Steak frites the kids had was beautiful too. Well done!

From the presentation to the taste of their food, everything is top tier, not just in Bellingham, but in the northwest.

My wife and I have been dining at Saltines since it opened ... I feel so happy that Saltines " dug in" after the shut down and continued producing exquisite cuisine during this Covid crisis pandemic... The food has not diminished in any way and we are so excited the menu is so varied. Tonight we ordered the pork cassoulet as well as prawn risotto both of which were phenomenal. The ginger coconut carrot bisque was 5 stars! We look forward to this consistently great food weekly. Thank you Craig and Val ! Jonathan and Cindy Franklin

We got dinner for takeout and it was AMAZING.From packing the food in a way that makes sense, to the taste itself - everything was perfect. Dinner was awesome. Will definitely come again next time we're in Bellingham.

Ordered dinner for my family last night. Every dish was amazing, flavorful, and expertly crafted. We put in an order to go and were able to pick it up just a few minutes after the time communicated to us. We will definitely be back.

We did take out here last Friday. Their food keeps getting better. The country pate was house made, served with grainy and smooth mustard, and loads of cornichons with crispy buttered toast and it was a generous serving, enough for 5 or 6 to share. I'm going to get a baguette next time to have with the pate, the toasts are great but almost too rich. The lamb shank was tender and falling off the bone, with flavor you can only get with a long braise. The polenta served with the lamb was creamy and rich. Great dish. The chicken wrapped in prosciutto was cooked perfectly, crispy outside and very juicy inside. Really excellent. The 9 layer lasagna had house made pasta and both marinara and pesto sauce. The meat in the lasagna was on the spicy side. A generous serving that could be shared by two if not too hungry. Probably the best takeout we've had since the apocalypse started. Treat yourself and order dinner from these guys, completely worth it and you deserve it.

Food is fresh, creative, & flavorful. The staff and owners are warm and kind, in my opinion the best restaurant in Bellingham.

Undoubtedly my favorite restaurant in Bellingham! The owners of Saltine bring "Seattle or Vancouver worthy" food to our "smallish" community... but at better prices than what you'd pay in Seattle. While I prefer to eat in their beautiful little restaurant, Saltine is only available for takeout during Covid. That said, I've ordered from them numerous times during the pandemic and can attest that their takeout is also delish! My favorites include the signature Saltine salad, smoked salmon carpaccio and the prosciutto wrapped chicken.

Get a Saltini and the Prosciutto chicken to go! Great takeout during covid.

Consistently delicious, that is the best way to describe Saltine. Do you want a delicious dinner? Get it here.

We loved going to saltine as a special occasion before the pandemic. We have been using the takeout service during the pandemic. It is awesome one night a week not to have to worry about cooking. Whenever we do, I look forward to that night all week! The food is outstanding, and the wine selection very good. Everything is done very safely but yet with that saltine personal touch. You drive up, and Val or Craig brings you your bagged order to your car, And you can tell they're smiling even under the mask! Can't wait to try the fish and chips! The lasagna is outstanding, and the meatballs - both regular and veggie- are to die for. We actually prefer the veggie!

We live in Seattle and have always been huge fans of Saltine . Every time we head north ( pre-Covid) we made sure to stop by for a meal. We were huge fans of Crow in Seattle and experienced Craig's amazing lasagna there many years ago. When we learned they were doing lasagna take out, we got the neighborhood together and placed a group order. Yes, we drove all the way to Bellingham to get what we believe is the best lasagna EVER! My husband is vegetarian so we ordered both versions. The slices were enough for two meals each and that salad dressing on a bed of simple greens is still talked about. If you have not tried take out from Saltine you are missing out ! Were excited for the next food road trip to try some of the new take out items they have !! Saltine, you're the best!

This is by far the best restaurant in Bellingham. We eat here every time we are in Bellingham, one a month, and have never been disappointed. Tonight it was bouillabaisse, pan seared chicken, and vegetable succotash and I would have a hard time picking out which was best. Everything perfectly seasoned and generous portions.
