The fish and chips were good, the drinks were great, but the service was rude. Still actively eating in front of a server who wasn't ours, and he asked if we were finished and wanted boxes and the check. Plenty of food on our plates. Mid chew. Felt very rushed. Maybe it was an off day.
I arrived at Skylark's Cafe entirely by chance while exploring Fairhaven, and am so glad for the twist of fate. The cafe itself is rustic and charming, and the staff were very attentive to their service and also to the customer's mood; I dined solo, and enjoyed a mindful, quiet lunch at the bar with Cheyenne as an excellent bartender and server. The summer strawberry salad with grilled chicken was perfect with a rosé, and I enjoyed it so much I stayed for dessert. I...
Food was better than I was told it would be! Had salmon, stuffed mushrooms, spaghetti and fettuccine Alfredo prawns. Finally a place that lives up to the hype. (The roses were a nice touch)
