Best experience at this place! Server was fun, animated and actually cared about what we were looking for- he had good suggestions for drinks, good and attractions in the area. Food was so good and worth the cost. We sat in the bar area. We will recommend to others and will be back! Hubby had vegan Monte Cristo and loved it!

My son and I decided to try this place after wanting to for a while. What better way to spend our Friday night having some drinks and burgers? We both opted for the smash burger, but I got the fries and my son got the Mac n cheese. He had a stout and I requested something pineapple liquor-y, and the bartender made me a special drink with spiced rum. It was the highlight of my night! It is smaller and gets busy, so just be prepared for a potential wait, but it's definitely worth it.

Great place to celebrate my birthday! Sunday evening was kind of slow and that was great for us. Our server was super cool. Food and drink fabulous.

The staff was friendly and the food was so gooood! Highly recommend the poutine. Also, the Prosciutto Apple salad was delicious and portion size was large!

One guy in our group was considered "too drunk" (they wouldn't tell us who) and so 6 people were considered unservable, and everybody was told that we were not only disallowed to be served alcohol, but we also had to leave the bar. Everything we did was above board. There was no drunken behavior nor drama. We are responsible adults between 35 and 40. And 5 of us were sober. Despite being supportive and positive, they would neither serve us food nor alcohol. This is the only one star review I've ever left any establishment. They lost 6 Bellingham natives as customers. What a shame.

I love this spot! We’ve had their Mac n cheese, beef stew, salads, soups, and Brussels sprouts and they were all awesome. They also have great service, great beer, and really cool merchandise. Definitely one of my favorite spots in town!

Great location great service great bar great atmosphere. Sadly another business giving in to the cowardice and enforcing vaccine requirement. Have we lost the values that make America the land of the free? Are you OK with supporting a business that doesn't understand our constitution or the laws written in 1964? Shame on the owners for forgetting our history.

As the name states, it's ver "local". Casual, good vibe. Music is on point and lots of local brews. Staff is great.

it’s fine food, nothing wrong with it, but definitely not worth it for the price. not spiced well, and smaller portions for the price and the theme of the restaurant.

Great beer and Shandy, surprisingly tasty food, while watching Kracken debut.

We are new to the area and wanted a spot to watch the first Giants/Dodgers playoff game. A bartender at another establishment referred us here. Nice choice! We may have been the only baseball fans in the place, but staff was super accommodating and switched 2 TVs over for us, then continued to provide attentive and friendly service. 5 stars for them! I started with an Autumn Fizz cocktail, which was boring. Needs ginger or spice or something. Switched over to a draft for next round and they have a decent selection, so I'd stay with that. We tried the homemade chips to nibble, and they were okay; on the overcooked side for both of us. I had the Brussels sprouts- crunchy, not too greasy, nice drizzle of balsamic. My spouse had a burger which he said had really good flavor and was well prepared. The bun seemed way oversized for the meat, making a good-sized burger initially look small. Fries come with a plethora of dipping options besides ketchup; the coconut aioli was tasty! I'm sure we will return for another sports event or something. I want to try their fish and chips, which looked great.

Driving around downtown today looking for somewhere with a beer, some good food and a quiet atmosphere to do some work at, I drove past The Local! We used to do our work Christmas parties here every year, but I hadn't been much lately. Same old spot with the nice heavy wood tables and gaming bar next door. Note: They are checking vaccine cards upon entry, and they will take a picture as proof. If you are not vaccinated, they do have a large area outdoors for perfect people watching, these tables are not heated so it will get chilly. I sat by the window and the one server working the bar was very friendly and came to the table to grab my order. I got the Thai Chili chicken wings (OMG) and the Fall Harvest salad with roasted squash, hazelnuts, pickled cranberries, and goats cheese. The salad was COVERED with hazelnuts, which I love and almost never happens, and it had huge globs of goats cheese to take bites off of. So good! The wings were as close to perfect as possible, and I loved the sauce, it was not super sweet which sometimes restaurants will do. Their tap list looks great, and I want to come back and try their cocktails and famous Reuben!

I'm so happy to have found this place. Food that is prepared with such pride and flavors. They have a small but mighty menu and the specials are outstanding and have flair. Great beer & ciders on tap. Wonderful mixed drinks as well. Run don't walk here.
