Drayton Harbor Oyster Company

We visited Drayton Harbor Oyster Company recently and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience with one of the employees. When we went up to order, the woman at the register (her name tag said Meghan) abruptly walked away in the middle of taking our order, didn’t ask if we wanted a half or full portion, and charged us for the full portion without clarifying. She also didn’t give us a number for our table.

When my mom went to ask about the number and whether we could have the half portion instead, Meghan raised her voice at her, saying “what do you need?” and then, when my mom explained, she yelled again, “do you want it or not?” Later, when she brought the food to our table, she didn’t say anything, just glared at us and walked away.

This was really upsetting because we were polite and friendly throughout the entire interaction. Thankfully, a different employee (a kind woman with glasses and dark hair) stepped in at the end and tried to make things right, which we appreciated.

I hope the management addresses this kind of behavior because it really took away from what could have been a great experience.

Just shared a basket of oysters on the half shell and again I was not disappointed. Great staff and masters of preparing oysters!

Well, that was disappointing. I've been a customer since the day you guys opened and I've had a few bad experiences lately but this one takes the cake. We waited about an hour and half, the fries were simultaneously cold and burned, and we ordered a 2nd glass of wine but never saw it, and ended up just giving up on it.

If you're understaffed and there is going to be a long wait, please tell me before I order so I have a chance to make a different decision. But if you're so understaffed you can't even pour a drink while I wait, you probably shouldn't have opened.

The Grilled Oysters are absolutely succulent served on the piping hot oyster shells on which they are grilled. Plain or numerous garnish choices.. tasty piece of flavoured sour dough to sop up the juice.. excellent mouth watering experience!

We came by based on the recommendation from a friend. I have to say that I’m disappointed. They didn’t have fresh oysters. We ordered an oyster chowder, which was very salty. We also ordered fried seafood basket. The batter was thick and over fried.

The waitress wasn’t very friendly. We ordered at the bar and then the server brought the food to our table. No other services were provided.

Sad to see a place we have come to love over the last four years,come to this
The helps I just work here attitude and portion sizes (yes I know that food costs are out of control) but a full basket of fish &shrimp, 4 tiny shrimp & 4 pieces of fish maybe 1/2 " thick (and overcooked) have left us looking for somewhere else to eat out. Sad sad sad

We really enjoyed our stop here! Food was yummy and portions were good. We shared a salad and the seafood basket and the fries were delicious and crispy! The view was 😍 and they even had binoculars to borrow which was extremely fun! If you like oysters, they had a lot of variety in flavors (we didn’t try them) and they had several local draft options. Service was pretty good and food came out quickly. Will definitely visit again in the future :)

Really cute spot for fresh seafood and a great selection of local brews! I had the chowder poutine with a local IPA. Absolutely delicious!
