Perfect day for lunch by the water and slurping delicious oysters. It does not get better than this. Oysters that are as fresh as fresh gets. We were a group of seven and we ordered a dozen of every variety they have for round one then went on for a few more dozen of our favorites. Nice wine pairinge topped off the experience. Beautiful sunny day but a little chilly so we sat by the fire to warm and enjoyed relaxing conversations and savored the moment.
Always an awesome experience
Hadn’t visited for over 20 years and decided to go back with friends. Beautiful night to enjoy the views and oyster collecting below in the sound. Attentive service from staff with precise timing on bringing out the various dishes. Perfectly cooked halibut and ling cod and a delicious broth surrounding the mussels. The quality of this restaurant hasn’t changed over the years andif anything has gotten better.
Seriously, the best food I’ve ever had in my life. Going to the oyster bar is more than just going out to eat; it’s an experience.
Not what it used to be. Arrive solo and was told all tables reserved except the table that has a tree blocking the view. Next couple that arrived without resv was offered the best corner table. Soup arrived same time as the halibut, which is annoying. Not one staff asked about my experience with dinner. Food is still very good and tasty, such small portions tho. Used to love this place. Too bad.
It is hard not to love this place. Water views, great seafood and good service. The oyster menu looks like a wine list, if you like oysters, this is the place for you.
The best. I adore the Oyster Bar- the views, the food, the wine list. It is nothing short of perfection. Worth every penny. Hope the rock slide clears up soon.
View and service were great.
Food that we had was not good. The food was so unmemorable I forgot what we had.
Parking: Parking is adequate for subcompact but not for a pickup.

Everything was exceptional except for the company.
As for the restaurant itself it was a 10/10 and I would no questions asked come back to dine again. I love the setting and honestly consider it's small size one of its most charming aspects. The views are absolutely breathtaking, definitely recommend going near time for sunset as we did.
This is not the restaurants fault and I certainly may have just gotten extremely unlucky, but there was a strong air of judgement and privilege in and around the restaurant among the patrons. I'll try to paint a picture for you.
I could pretty easily hear other conversations happening in the restaurant (in spite of my best efforts to tune them out).
I heard people go on about their yacht issues, palaton classes, and then there was the alcoholic who weirdly only told stories about buddies of his doing things while being drunk.
If you want to know how I knew he was an alcoholic without being judgemental myself, it was because he drank nearly an entire bottle of wine then drove away with his wife in the passenger seat.
My wife and I rode motorcycles there since it is a scenic byway after all. Well, technically a scooter but she rides a Vespa but it's 300cc so its easier to just say motorcycle. Point is we aren't the stereotypical Harley riders that you might be imagining, and there's no chance anyone knew we rode there on motorcycles based on how we dressed inside so that wasn't it. When we were getting suited up to leave the guests in the parking lot we're weirdly rude and dismissive of us. I have run out of energy to give a detailed account so you'll have to trust me on this one.
Anyway, I'm curious if it's always like that. If so I will be less enthused about a return visit. For now, giving the benefit of the doubt.
Parking: The road is very narrow and it's always pretty crowded. As usual motorcycles never have a problem finding parking, but we did have to be very careful about how we parked to prevent the bikes from tipping as the ground is not level or even in any way.
Wheelchair accessibility: Wheel chair accessibility may be a little challenging as everything is tight quarters along with some natural steps. I do think it's possible for the dedicated individual though.

Halibut dry and overcooked. Lobster bisque was not good, everything overpriced, poor selection for dairy free options

We’ve visited on several occasions. It’s expensive but worth it on special days.
