A amazing place to grab early morning coffee or a sandwich on the way. Their breakfast burritos and Cobb salad are delicious. Coffee is very tasty and just love here, very friendly environment and the employees are always helpful. Highly recommended 👌
Thank you.

This place has definitely gone down hill. It’s was already having issues before the management change as the variety and quality of the food was trending down in an obvious attempt to cut cost. Portion sizes have been reduced and the quality of ingredients have been replaced with inferior options. They also started to raise prices. I know running a food establishment is difficult but when your decisions affect people’s desires to visit, it will make it even harder to succeed. Best of luck, but unfortunately you’ve lost me as a customer.

Espresso is regularly burnt. Everything is over priced as their prices keep going up. And they keep making it hard to earn points toward free drinks and the points expire if you don't use them. I'm done waisting my money here.

I ordered a breakfast sandwich & the turkey sandwich with bacon on a croissant. Super fresh produce, I was really impressed by how tasty the lettuce tomato & onion were. High quality meat as well. First time ordering & I’ll be ordering again

Delicious croissant sandwich and they started a fresh pot of coffee for us at 10:30AM. Great, friendly service and quiet room to sit and eat. Clean bathroom which always makes you feel better about a place.

Stopped by for a breakfast burrito this morning and ended up pretty disappointed. Hadn’t been in for a while since I started working further away, but I used to come in all the time. Sadly I won’t be back again anytime soon. Burritos are now a whopping $13 (which I get with inflation) however they are also now half the size they used to be. I don’t mind paying more for something but not when you are also cutting the portions at the same time. I think I just read there are new owners now so I guess that’s why. Also didn’t care for the bacon they are using now. Used to get nice crispy slices of bacon now it’s bacon bits that are barely cooked and really chewy, but I’m sure that’s just a personal preference for me. I hate chewy bacon.

Great little spot for breakfast sandwiches and burritos. Have never had lunch there. They have a very small first come, first serve dining area with a low bar counter affixed to two walls and stools, that was clean, but very also "bare bones". Great food and great people, though!

Let me start by saying I’ve been coming here for a couple of years and it’s my favorite place to get a coffee and a bite almost every day that I can. However as of recently things have changed. I know there are new owners and it seems the transition process is not going smooth. I’ve come to know the baristas here rather well and I can see they are struggling as they deal with change in management. They are as lovely and attentive as always but the changes are beginning to wear…Firstly, the door doesn’t open properly and hasn’t for weeks. Personally I was going to leave assuming they were closed before I saw another customer who managed to shove the door open. According to the workers they’ve tried to have it fixed but it seems to not be a priority of the new ownership. For a short time there was a sign letting customers know that the door stuck but was open. The sign has been removed but the door is not fixed…Many times they’ve been out of stock on basic ingredients for my order, the workers are very understanding and kind about the issue but unfortunately it’s not an issue they can fix without help from the owner. As I said I love State Gate and I don’t want to stop going but if this decline continues I sadly will have to find somewhere that is able to give customers the same orders they’ve been purchasing for YEARS without issue.I hope the owners can listen to the requests of their front line workers who truly know and care about what is needed by the customers.I don’t want to see this place go under but if something doesn’t change I’m afraid me and likely many other regulars will lose patience and take business elsewhere. There’s no reason to fix something that isn’t broken but they’re trying anyways…Unfortunate since it’s so accessible for shipyard workers…I wish the best for this wonderful cafe and hope they take this growing concern with serious consideration. Please don’t let’s this business go under I’ll miss it GREATLY.

Staff was friendly and service was quick - granted, we were the only people in there. Place is easy to miss - the entrance is down an old narrow alley but it is clean and has more seating than I expected - all bar-type seating. We split the cuban and an iced vanilla latte. The sandwich was packed with delicious meat and nice, thick bacon to boot. We will definitely be back to try more here!
