Phenomenal experience 🤩

I normally like diners. But they messed up scrambled eggs and a ten year old can scramble eggs.

We love coming here for random breakfast or brunch. There's usually just one server, so patience is key. Generous portions and we usually go home with a to go box of food. The quality has always been perfect for us. The hashbrowns are perfectly crispy, the eggs aren't over cooked, the bacon is perfectly crispy, too.
For two adult breakfasts and one kid, I spent $65, including a tip. So not cheap but not expensive considering their generous portion sizes and consistent good food!
It's a little run-down looking and definitely needs a fresh coat of paint and updated everything. But that doesn't take away from the yummy food here!

Delicious breakfast cooked to perfection! Quick and friendly service, 10/10 local diner spot!

Good good. Large portions. Tables are a bit small for how large the plates and portions are, unless you're sharing with someone else.

I don't even know where to start. The staff was pleasant when we came in expecting high outcomes due to the reviews which were a 4.9 at the time (lies). We were not only seated in the very back of the diner but there was a ton of storage located right behind us giving us a very grimy feel. The table was sticky. When we got to the food, I ordered a smoked salmon eggs Benedict combination which I had countless time before at other places. It was the most disappointing eggs Benedict of my life. The sauce was clumpy and mayo like. The salmon was tasteless and somehow over cooked. My husband had ordered the country fried steak which had way too much gravy. We didn't even finish our dishes due to the fact that it was terrible. The pricing on my eggs benedict was $20 which till this day, think its ridiculous due to the quality of the food.

Finally found a place for breakfast I want to go back to. It ain't fancy or new - but servings are generous, menu has all the staples, and it's a local joint.

Update: you gotta try the corned beef Benedict. Chicken and waffles also good.

The space is a little rough around the edges for sure, but I enjoy neighborhood vibes over an IHOP or over-the-top kitsch/Pinterest energy.

Come here for huge portions and friendly staff! Shelly’s is definitely a greasy spoon kind of place, so don’t expect a pristine setting, but do expect to eat a delicious breakfast on a plate that is the size of a serving platter.
The egg dishes are really great, try them ‘pile’ style. The bloody mary’s are excellent. They serve really good biscuits bigger than your fist!

Dairy products were not fresh and something was off on the biscuit. Cheese and butter both tasted and smelled bad.

Dairy products just not fresh, both cheese and butter tasted and smelled off. The place was also quite cold and univiting.

This place is great. Wasn’t too busy when we went around 10 in the morning. Service was fast.
Monte cristo ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Dill potatoes ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I got the Monte Christo and it was huge! It came with these wonderful dill seasoned potatoes. I could only eat half my sand-which, not bad for the price either!

The food is pretty good and the menu has some decent variety. The service has been very hit or miss.
We have been here quite a few times and there is this odd dichotomy between individual staff members. One of the regular wait staff is often not pleasant and regularly makes decisions that are lacking common sense, it would not be a stretch to label some as even off-putting. The other wait staff is generally very pleasant, and tries to keep things organized in a way that comes across as well thought-out and considerate of the customers.
The atmosphere is what one would expect for a diner, slightly cramped inside, could perhaps use a good spring cleaning, but overall seems to be hygienic enough and makes the best use of limited space.
Overall the food is a bit better than the average diner fare, and that's what keeps us coming back.

I had sausage and eggs with the potatoes....it was delicious!

The portions are huge here and the taste of the food is pretty good. The biscuits and gravy needed salt and pepper. Biscuits are huge but pretty dry for my southern taste. The diced potatoes were so close to being delicious but they were seasoned with dill weed which was a bit odd and if some onion was added they would’ve great. My husband’s corned beef hash was definitely the best dish. The atmosphere is messy and cluttered like you’d expect at a hole in the wall mom and pop diner. The owner and other waitstaff were wonderful and kind.
