We went to Los Jalapenos a couple days ago and still feel a bit blind sided by the bill. The service was good, we never got water but did get served the Beer and Margaritas that our table ordered. They had a special posted all over the place so we decided to order that not thinking anything of it. We ordered another round of margaritas and asked for the bill shortly after. Our bill was over $140 for 3 people. We had tacos... After getting our bill our plates were over $29 each....
Portions for our take out dinners were plentiful, and came with choice of tortillas, corn or flour, and free bag of chips and salsa. Food was ready when we arrived. The arroz con pollo ($24) was flavorful with a warm garlicky, lightly spiced sauce, moist chicken strips, lettuce and tomato on the side. The mushrooms seemed canned but were fine, and the cheese added depth to the flavor. My partner got the carne asada ($31) and said it was delicious as well. Both the corn and flour...
They are a great place to go for drinks and food, especially if you are downtown already for an event. They never fail to be exceedingly accommodating, their drinks are strong, and the service is excellent. Always happy to support this place!
