⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)
“Classic Chinese-American comfort food done with care and consistency”

Bamboo Gardens is one of those spots that instantly takes you back — the kind of place where the smell of fried rice and sweet-and-sour sauce hits you before you even open the door. It’s a longtime Clarkston favorite for a reason: the food is hot, flavorful, and always served with a smile.

I ordered a combo plate, and everything was spot-on. The fried rice was perfectly cooked — not greasy, not dry — and had that subtle wok flavor you only get when someone’s been doing it for years. The sweet and sour chicken was crisp on the outside, tender on the inside, and coated in a sauce that strikes the perfect balance between tangy and sweet. The egg rolls were golden, crunchy, and filled with fresh vegetables rather than filler.

Service here is exactly what you want — quick, friendly, and attentive without being overbearing. Even when the place gets busy, food comes out fast and piping hot. You can tell the team takes pride in keeping things consistent, and it shows.

The dining area is clean and cozy, with a nostalgic charm that feels welcoming and familiar. It’s the kind of restaurant where families have probably been coming for decades, and for good reason.

If you’re craving dependable, delicious Chinese food in the valley, Bamboo Gardens delivers every single time. It’s no surprise this spot has become a Clarkston staple — it’s comfort food with personality and history.

Came in to place an order to go and the gentleman greeted me. Told me to look at menus and as I’m standing at the podium I see him taking care of those that came in to eat after I had already been there waiting. I guess he decided to take care of those that came in to eat and not those that wanted to take it home. Waited 10 minutes or more and still no one came to the podium to take my order. So I left. It is sad to say the service was horrible and can’t say how the food is. Which is sad I was a new customer.

Chinese food can be a toss up, sometimes it’s very authentic and delicious, sometimes not so much. This food is very good for the price, If you like a good bite of Chinese I would come here; great service too.

Dinner for 2 that wasn't an arm and a leg! Way cheaper than Mandrine pine, spring rolls on the house, so much food that leaves you full for a full meal again after!! 100/5 stars. Most indefinitely will be back!!

The tea was great! Food wasn't good! The BBQ pork was dry and old. We got 3 different plates and maybe ate 3 bites out of each and it wasn't good. The little egg rolls was the only thing that was decent. Won't be back ever! Not sure how they got such a high reviews unless they've never eaten anywhere else. Save your time and money! The staff was friendly tho!

Ms. Karen was supper polite to take my order and very cordial with me. While I waited for my to go food, she brought me egg drop soup and some spring rolls as a lovely gesture and she made me feel at home like a mom cooking for me. Very pleasant experience from this restaurant, I strongly recommend it.

Picked up order and the food was very salty. Also everything but the soup was cold. We have eaten there before and liked it. Friendly staff but paid over $40.00 for food that we did not eat.

Must visit. Szechuan chicken and Singapore noodles. I asked for them to be extra spicy and they delivered! Spicy and flavorful. Definitely one of the best Szechuan chickens around. The complimentary egg drop soup is a little lumpy for my tastes but my date praised its flavor.

They serve amazing proportions for a good price if you get the dinner combos. The service was also good--they were very kind and served the food quickly.
