Not my first time at this restaurant, and unfortunately both times I have been disappointed. On my visit we ordered and white and red sangria, 1. mole enchilada, 1. spinach enchilada, and nachos.
The “sangria” is orange juice with grenadine floated with wine. Disappointing doesn’t begin to cover it.
Canned beans and dry rice- watery mole sauce. The spinach enchilada was decent. The nachos were good. I’d say certainly in sure there are dishes they do really well- unfortunately we did not get them.
The atmosphere is very loud and visually busy. At times feels claustrophobic.
I always believe in giving places a second chance- but I won’t be back here.

This restaurant was one of the most disappointing places I've visited in the Pacific Northwest. It was one of the only non-fastfood restaurants open for lunch on a Tuesday.
The chips, tortillas, and guacamole all seemed like they were just purchased at the Safeway up the street. The salsa seemed fresh enough, but it was certainly nothing extraordinary.
I got a burrito chipotle with beef, and the strips of beef in it were super tough, as if they'd been boiled or sitting under a heat-lamp. I had to use a knife to saw through the burrito beef, and then I had to hold down the meat to pull my fork out of it. My wife got the carne asada, which she enjoyed, but it was still pretty average.
If you want horchata, you should seriously just get some of the powdered stuff from Safeway and mix it yourself. The stuff here tasted like it was mixed with 2-3 times too much water.
They were very friendly and had a lot of piñatas.

Typical Americanized Mexican food. I usually get shrimp ceviche. I love spicy food, however this time it was so spicy hot I literally could not eat it. I mentioned it to the server and she said, ITS GOOD FOR YOU!!!! And walked away. We used to come here a couple times a month. I left my food on my plate and we haven't been back since.

If you're looking for a friendly and welcoming spot to serve you some of the best Hispanic comfort food in Cle Elum, look no further.
I have been judged by alot of businesses in this town, but I can always sit at El Caporal and have an attentive, promt and excellent experience. I've visited in slow times, and peak service hours, and I can honestly say that the service and wait time's have never skipped a beat. These people are dedicated to their oath to serve you, and I can't recommend their hospitality and amazing recipes more

Solid Mexican food, vegetarian options, good service. Servers were attentive without hovering. We came from out of town and had a large group. The servers managed the orders efficiently and accurately. The atmosphere was relaxed Enjoyed the veggie burrito along with a side of guacamole. The portion of guacamole was generous.

We stopped by for lunch and ordered the carne asada and steak fajitas. Unfortunately, the carne asada was overcooked, the refried beans tasted sour, and I didn’t like the rice. The service was good, but the food was not. I couldn’t finish my meal and ended up taking the carne asada to go for my dog. I don’t think we’ll be back.

Great Mexican restaurant in Cle Elum. Hwy 2 is closed, so we drove I90 to Cle Elum on our way to Leavenworth. Stopped at this place for lunch and it was terrific! Great service, margaritas, salsa and molcajetes!!
