This is the best restaurant in Roslyn! Lots of cozy atmosphere, fantastic cocktails, delicious food and a lot of options to order from. Whether dining in, take-out, or Door Dash everything is very, very good. Big homemade proportions! I go on every visit.

four of us in total, three of us had breakfast and one had lunch- all agreed every ounce of food was amazing. come to find out the ingredients are all locally sourced and fresh. I had the vegetarian skillet with two Overeasy eggs and sourdoughtoast – yummy! my wife got the eggs Florentine, which again was tremendous. Our friends got the breakfast burrito, which is huge and turkey club equally as good as our meals. The atmosphere was great and come to find out the indoor/outdoor seating that we were at was built on top of an actual coal shoot. this cute little place is loaded with details like reclaimed wood for the tables, tongue and groove planking on the ceilings and walls, mason jars that the ice water is served in, and even the smallest detail if you’re observant enough of the charcoal art piece that is a rendition of an actual photograph found on site of the coal miners. The service was great, kind, and friendly-juxtaposed to the political paraphernalia, adorning the outbuildings beyond the boundaries of the parking lot. overall, I highly recommend this place if you’re passing through Roslyn, they even have a gift shop with souvenirs and baked goods.

Waiting for 1 hour and a half for an order in a half empty restaurant. Food sucks, dry chicken, cold fries. Halibut tastes like overcooked cod. Don't come here. Find some other place in the area. Overpriced, slow, and very VERY bad tasting food.

The Coal Chute is our favorite restaurant in Roslyn! The food is always consistent (and delicious, creative, high-quality, attention to detail, artisan). The design has a cool old-saloon vibe with modern touches and the AirBnB studio suites above the restaurant are a cozy place to stay for a couple + a pup for a night or two. The cocktails are top notch. I'm a foodie and this is my absolute go to - try everything - won't disappoint. Lots of parking in their parking lot and pretty prairie views. Small town charm & hospitality! Can't wait to go back soon...
Pretty quiet Saturday night at this establishment. Maybe just under half full. We waited a while to get our order taken.. finally Waitress took our order. 20 mins after that she informed us they were out of an item that three people of my party ordered. The server blamed the issue on one of the prep cooks in the morning that didn’t do his duties to marinate them… first off don’t blame the kitchen. Making excuses isnt needed. Or single out your weak link in staff. Anyways tell us that far into our ticket time that ridiculous that no one would have mentioned that prior to our ticket being that long already. They were steaks. They were offered to pick different items and suggested the rib eye or the filet. Without notifying them they would be up charged to the menu price for the item they were forced to order instead of the steak they originally wanted. So now our ticket is at 30 mins… with all the other items cook ahead of time for all we know. An hour later we finally see our food coming up in the window… after we finally asked… they said it’s a “scratch kitchen” and things just take a while… and that they were really busy tonight. The kitchen was backed up. When my ny steak came out I counted a side of 5 vegetables, a small portion of mashed potatoes and a rare flat topped grilled steak… the whole dish was luke warm. And the price tag was 48 dollars. They applied auto gratuity to the check without notifying us. And when I asked them without complaining about the ticket time, my plate (and others at the table) being cooked incorrectly and it being Luke warm with barely a portion of the cheapest thing about the dish, pricing of the steak when they offered my party any other steak on the menu to be changed they replied with that’s not our fault we don’t make money on a different cut when they ordered it my jaw just dropped. I had to argue with them that this wasn’t right. To be frank their lucky we even paid anything. Our check was easily a grand for the table and to be treated so poorly after a who cares about if we’re were happy or not time… I will never be back. And I will spread the word.

Went in for “brunch” and a cocktail. Staff was amazing, food was beyond good. If you attempt to drive by with your windows down you will be overwhelmed by the smell of amazingness. Cute spot. Will be back. Definitely.

Service was terrible and a bit rude! We waited 10 minutes for the waitress to take our drinks order and about an hour for our food; the waitress didn’t even apologize for the delay. They brought the bill 5 minutes after they delivered the food.

No matter what, I do not agree on 20% gratuity for to-go order.

I had high hopes for this restaurant, but they were dashed by the slow service. We had a large group, and the food took over an hour to be served. Some of the food was great, but some of it was not so great. The raw chicken and cold fries were particularly disappointing. On top of that, the menu was surprisingly expensive, and the added fees were disappointing.
