Nice little bakery in Coupeville near the water. hey have a good amount of pastries to choose from as well as loaves of bread. There's a nice little parking lot right next to the bakery. There are also lots of shops to walk around and check out after you get some pastries from here.

Came in close to closing time and was glad to see that they still had everything available. The chocolate croissant was quite nice, and I regret not trying other things!

Great bakery! Fantastic food stuffs. However, do not be fooled by the other reviews and photos, there is NO indoor seating or sandwiches or breakfast/lunch foods. Only bread and pastries and coffee. And outdoor seating.

A tiny cute bakery where they prepare the breads and croissants right in front of you. No espresso drinks, but an extensive variety of baked goods. All their seating is outdoors with a view of the water in the distance. Friendly service. We ordered:1. Bacon cheddar scallion scone2. Chocolate croissant 3. Orange chocolate croissant 4. Almond croissant 5. Rosemary olive boule The scone was moist and the croissants were flaky goodness...but nothing was extraordinary. 3.5 stars

Hmm they told me the barley and walnut loaf was good, I'm not sorry to say I loved it and think it's great. We have had the rosemary olive loaf before and my wife loves that one. The sourdough and cracked wheat loaf are good. I haven't tried the rye or (I think it was/is oat and molasses?) Yet. But looking forward to them. The bakery has some (imo) unusual hours, but I think it's worth the trip and to try all the stuff!!

Quaint little seaside bakery decked up for the holidays. You can see the bakers working upfront , measuring out the yeast and stacking fresh loaves of bread. Front desk was friendly and local. Food was buttery, rich & flakey. Loot check: 1. Apple pie- big portions; with hints of cinnamon & holidays.2. Cheese danish- with raspberry jam crusted by candied pastry & studded with large sugar crystals.3. Beef hand pie- Warming up my heart through that brown paper bag even now. Yum!Heat it up and it'll be the only things you'll need on a cold winters day!

Good: what's not to love about hot and fresh baked goods? Stopped by yesterday to pick up some pastries for breakfast, so glad we did! We ordered the beef and potato hand pie and vegetarian quiche. Really loved that buttery flaky beef and potato hand pie. Quiche was decent too. Service: Fast and efficient with great attitudes! I love how warm and inviting everyone was.Ambiance: Warm, clean and homey vibes! Especially with the holiday season.

Best bread on the island. Agree with another comment that service can be a bit rude and irritable. I still miss the other location with additional breakfast items such as sandwiches.

I was Sarah’s French teacher in high school. I used to brag about really good croissants in France in class. She and her husband make a truly exceptional croissant along with the other really tasty sweet and savory pastries. Tres bien fait Petite Poule Rouge!

Great bakery in Coupeville. I love the croissants, and the bread loafs. I highly recommend a stop at the Red Hen for anyone who's in Coupeville.

The smoked salmon Danish was the best... my mouth is watering just thinking of eating this again..

Fantastic breads and pastries served out-of-doors or take-away. Highly recommend the savory pastry made with smoked salmon!

The breads and the savory pastry with smoked salmon were fabulous! NOT: They do not have any indoor seating.

It was just ok. Everything was pretty dry. Croissants could have been good but so dry. It would have been nice if they heated the stuff up for us like the ham and cheese croissant. Granted we came right before they closed for the day. One of the reasons we went was because we thought they were in the shop from practical magic. Turns out they moved last year from the practical magic house . Not really their fault but something to note if that's why you're going there too.
