Absolutely magical stay at Captain Whidbey! Everything was perfect, the grounds are so peaceful, the food is incredible, and all of the staff are so incredibly kind, welcoming, and friendly. Truly a special experience, can’t wait to go back!

We went for a girls lunch and I heard the octopus risotto was amazing so i ordered it and it had ONE small piece of octopus, just one singular tentacle about 2 inches long. I definitely expected more that one piece!

This place has wonderful views and a warm atmosphere. Unfortunately both the restaurant and the some of the food was a bit cold. The fish and chips were fantastic. The service was fast and friendly.

We love this place! The staff is great, and the old school character is a perfect setting. Cameron was great as always. The food was a disappointment as we have had dinner here multiple times. Not sure what changed but we will be back soon.

Our second visit to Captain Whidbey and a delight again. Bar was a little busy/slow but given it was a Saturday and aa busy weekend with Mussel Fest could be expected (though maybe they could use an extra set of hands at the bar!). All of our food was excellent, and when we initially had an issue with an item our server quickly remedied. The chicken and carrot cake are two absolute must haves!

Stopped here for a drink and to checkout the Inn. Would definitely go back and have dinner and book a stay at the Inn.

Wonderful evening. Service was top notch and the food was excellent. We were a party of 4 with reservations. Two of our group ordered the Fish & Chips, both parties enjoyed them, said they were cooked perfectly, crunchy and not greasy at all and just the right portion. One of our party had the House Special which was a boar meatloaf over white truffle mashed potatoes. So delicious they asked for the recipe. One of our group Ordered the Captain Whidbey burger. Cooked to perfection and generous portion. We all agreed we will be back!

Great place with good service in a rustic environment Food was of very good quality but prices seem high compared to quantity. This may be an issue of "Whidbey island pricing".

Cameron was our waiter again and we appreciated his recommendations, friendliness, and what felt like special attention. He really is so personable and professional....outstanding waiter. We just may request him next time as we enjoyed our dinner extra thanks to him. Brought my brother and his girlfriend visiting from Cincinnati & another friend from San Diego. They all loved it the inn and dinner experience. We will continue to bring friends and family as we continue to do even though we live on Guemes Island:)

Very nice grounds and awesome wood burning fireplace. Service was great other than it was very hurried (4 courses and the bill in less than 50 minutes). I'm not generally a picky eater but I couldn't eat the first two courses at all (my wife did manage to eat a few bites but didn't care for it either). We didn't say anything negative and just figured I was being overly picky. The braised short rib (3rd course) was ok and the dessert was GREAT but unfortunately didn't make up for the rest. This was Valentine's Day with a special preselected menu so probably not representative of the typical experience. We'll probably go back again on a typical day to give it another try.

I was so excited to try their restaurant and have a nice meal, but it was incredibly disappointing. The mussels and clams, although fresh, were in a bland watery broth. So mediocre! You can get awesome mussels in Coupeville and I would expect the Captain Whidbey to be on par (or better!) than that. The scallops were delicious but I did not realize that the word "risotto" was in quotes...it tasted like trail mix, honestly. The gnocchi was also just fine and not what we expected. I hope they improve the restaurant because I'd love to come back for the amazing atmosphere!

The food was amazing! Our server, Cameron was very knowledgeable and gave some great recommendations. Had the appetizer board, dungeness crab Mac n cheese, fish cakes on special and the chicken dish.

My girlfriend & I really enjoyed our early Valentine's Day dinner at the Capt Whidbey Inn on Sat night, Feb 3rd. We arrived 20 minutes before our reservation time but were still promptly seated. The food was delicious, especially the divers scallops. We can't wait to go back there.
