Aggressive staff. Their service was not as expected as the town said “great place to eat”. Waitress was unwelcome and few little awkward exchange, so the 10 of us walked out.
I was visiting from out of town and decided to eat at the establishment with my family. I was drinking bottled water prior to being served and when I sat down at a table, I got accused of drinking VODKA, The older waitress with glasses said it was WA law to not bring beverages into a restaurant. I reviewed the code and asked my family that lives in WA. Bottle water is completely legal. I have no problem with restaurant policy on outside beverages. Last time I checked water is water not a beverage. The waitress must have been having a bad day and for some reason unknown vented on our group. We left the restaurant, which made my family uncomfortable due to her welcoming service. We decided to eat at Oak Harbor.
The fish & chips were great and served hot and fresh. The lemonade tasted like it was made from a mix. I really liked the setting and the interior space is cool, but the service was really lacking. Both servers who rounded our table seemed a little crotchety, but the real kicker was that I waited an hour for a single order of fish & chips, despite the restaurant not being very busy. While I’d probably visit again if I were in the area, I would definitely not go if I had any sort of time constraints.
Fish and chips were so good. The small town local atmosphere was great as well.
Great, fresh seafood and wonderful service
Loved this place. Alot of fun and the food is amazing. Had the Fish and Chips. The best I've ever had. Little breading and alot of fish. Also had the muscles and those were great.
Very rude they served me the wrong food and got a very bad attitude with me because I told him that’s not what I ordered . He said it was his problem . It took a good 45 minutes for them to finely asked what we wanted then gave me wrong food and it was terrible. Never again will I go in that place
I had a patty melt sandwich. Service was great. This the first time i ever had a patty melt sandwich that contained no carmelized onions served on toasted rye rsther than grilled rye. Hence my review. Perhaps this is because of new amateurish ownership. To many good restaurants in Coupeville to bother eating here. Excellent service never m a kes up for poor quality food.

Poor poor service! Waiting for about an hour with no food. People came in after us ordered their food and ate before us! Poor excuse for a company. Tables were dirty, we cleaned it off ourself. Just a terrible experience.

Amazing food, best on the island. Kim also gave us the best service I’ve had in a very long time! Made us feel like locals. Highly recommend!

To my taste, the potatoes were fried in old oil, and the grilled oysters were not bad. But the mussels were not properly cleaned, and therefore tasted like seaweed.
The place has a good atmosphere and nice waiters, but I don't know if I was so lucky with the food or if the place always cooks like that. I don't want to check it again

The $13 pastrami sandwich was something that just looked like it was made at home. Mussels were completely flavorless. Before even touching the sandwich the food runner asked if it looked ok and my friend said this isn't what she expected she wanted it toasted on sourdough but all she said was "it's too late" and walked away. Was gas lit and berated by male redhead bartender and told" it's a tavern, with tavern food" just because it's a tavern doesn't mean we expect to be ripped off if you're serving mussels, oysters and wagyu you're not expected to be run of the mill bar food. Also does "tavern" mean your food sucks? Also if the food hasn't been touched at all I've never seen a place refuse to take it back. Manager woke up from a nap and didn't seem to care either. If not the waste of money and subpar food the interactions with the staff here completely ruined our first trip to Coupeville and probably won't ever come back because the negative experience tainted the entire town for us.
