What a delightful experience! We’ve been driving by for a few years now! Decided to go for our Anniversary! So glad we did! Owner was fabulous! Accommodated our dishes. It was a new taste bud experience! I highly recommend! 10/10 Can’t wait to bring the family back!

Excellent food! Everything was so delicious and cooked perfectly. This isn’t a fast food restaurant and you may be waiting a bit for your food. But the wait is so worth it! Service was mostly good but we had to ask for knives with our meal and there weren’t enough menus so we had to share two among three people. For a restaurant of this quality I found that surprising.

We stumbled upon Rifugio while passing through the area and were intrigued by the idea of finding an Italian restaurant in such a location. Our decision to try it out turned into a delightful surprise!
From the moment we stepped in, the warm welcome from our hostesses and chef set the tone for an exceptional dining experience. We indulged in a feast of flavors, starting with the delightful smoked salmon bruschetta. The wild cod with spinach sauce was a standout for me, perfectly complemented by the impeccably cooked scrambled egg. Each dish was a testament to the chef's skill and passion for culinary experimentation.
To top off our meal, the zabaione dessert was a heavenly conclusion. Our conversation with the chef added an extra layer of enjoyment, hearing firsthand about his inspirations and culinary journey.
Next time we find ourselves in the Mt Baker freeway area, there's no doubt we'll be back at Rifugio. It's a rare find where genuine hospitality meets exceptional Italian cuisine, creating an unforgettable dining experience.

My wife and I just finished dinner at Rifugio's and it was fantastic. Family owned and operated restaurant that makes you feel at home with the cozy ambiance and delicious heart-warming food. We had the mushroom bruschetta to start, and then the bolognese lasagna and the sea scallops that were on special. Every bite was amazing. Strawberry tiramisu was perfect way to finish the meal. They also have a new airbnb onsite. 11/10

I have eaten here for years and find the meals exceptional. I took a friend there today for a Sunday birthday brunch.I was shaken to see a large shift in seating as tables and chairs , with very few exceptions inside, have been replaced with long slab tables with low chairbacks...which don't accomodate my back. The former brightly painted walls are now merlot.Their reasoning was to attract larger groups, making serving them much easier. There are tables and chairs outside....and now also an air bnb.Just not the same feel.

Randomly walked in on our way to Snowater, was not expecting the vibe of the place but definitely enjoyed ourselves. We all enjoyed our food and would come back again.
Kid-friendliness: While you could bring you kids, it doesn’t really fit the vibe of the place. I would not recommend bringing picky eaters.

You owe it to yourself to eat here at least once in your life, although given the quality and the prices you should probably visit a few times. This is the best red sauce I have ever had. It was complex - I tasted everything - and I can’t think of another time where I could taste every ingredient in a red sauce. I have been to Italy, I have been to Michelin restaurants, etc., etc. - this is the winner.I said I would be back to try everything on the menu and I meant it.

What a hidden gem. We stumbled upon this lovely spot on our way up to nooksach falls. It was the perfect place for a sleepy Sunday brunch. We shared potato soup, bread, and sausage pasta. Everything and I mean everything was absolutely delicious! The place is so cute and cozy on the inside. We will 100% be back for dinner.Very rarely am I impressed with a place but this place is the ticket. Everything was simple, elegant, and perfectly seasoned.

Came in Saturday evening. We were quickly greeted and seated. The service and atmosphere was wonderful. We sat up by the kitchen and the owner and server were wonderful. This was almost like a chef’s table experience. Loved the food and the unique touch. Will be back again and again absolutely worth what we
