I had the Chilean sea bass special for $28. It was not a good sized meal. It tasted good but I left there hungry after snowboarding all day and had to get more food. Kinda bummed
This is one of my top 3 places to eat. The food is exquisite. I especially like the Chicken Teriyaki, Gyoza, and Miso soup. Presentation is delightful, portions are satisfying, and everything is super fresh. Seating is limited so often we get Carry Out and race home to enjoy it in comfort.
A fun hidden place in the mountains. Amazing food and people. This is a must stop if you are going through. Though you have to be there soonish after opening to make sure you can get everything you want.
Cozy gem serving delicious, homemade Japanese “mountain food” — think huge gyoza, hearty rice bowls, and sake. Only open Friday and Saturday and gets busy fast, but worth a wait.
This place is amazing. We lived in Japan for several years and this very much reminds me of the small mountain restaurants you find in rural Japan. Quality over quantity, with a focus on fresh seasonal local ingredients. Limited menu that changes frequently based on the ingredients and what’s good now. They regularly run out because they aren’t mass producing a standard menu.Secret tip: Get it to go and take it up to artists point or on a short hike for an amazing dinner picnic. The food is still great cold.
Got there at 6:30pm, “sorry we ran out of food”
Delicious Japanese food made fresh. Friendly staff, good prices, amazing food, and relaxing atmosphere.
New folks in the kitchen. Gota say, I miss Rob and Akanae.
Open for takeout only. They spend 50+ hours a week home making all their sauces. This is scratch made hardy Japanese food. The place is clearly a passion project and the food shows that.Recommend a gyoza appetizer. Chicken teriyaki and the salad were big winners in our group.
Delicious food, call ahead to make sure they aren't out of certain dishes, she prepares everything same day and may run out depending on how busy they get.

Visited Yuki Yama for the first time today and found the authentic Japanese food to be excellent and wholesome. I enjoyed every bite and can not wait to go back and try gyoza and katsudon.
Not to be repetitive but this is indeed a hidden gem. Authentic Japanese food cooked from scratch. Had their red miso chicken, teriyaki bowl and seared ahi, all of which was beyond exceptional. Ambiance is great had a chat with Jeff, he helped design and construct the interior. It’s worth the trip.
You will have an excellent experience here if you arrive with appropriate expectations. This place is cozy, authentic, and family run. Hours are limited and so are the ingredients, because they are made fresh daily. Rob will be your host (the owner and only server), and he loves to have conversations with his guests. This is a place locals come to catch up after a week of isolation in the mountains and eat food made with love by his wife Akane, like you have a Japanese mom you never meet (she stays in the kitchen busily creating these dishes). Your being in a rush is not a match with this experience. Take it slow, arrive early if you want to have the best special on the menu since it will run out, or just take Rob's advice. The miso comes with your meal in the traditional way, not early. The sake is served very hot, so he pours it for you. And so forth. These folks go to Japan every winter to snowboard and research new recipes based in mountain culture to bring back to our mountain culture. Appreciate that. The sushi rolls are cut large, so one roll can fill you up and you may have to unhinge your jaw to get a piece in your mouth! The menu of the day is typically posted on Facebook in both the Maple Falls and Glacier groups. They don't use a website much. Hours are currently Fri-Sun, 4pm-8pm, but it could change when winter or summer hits (and WA gets past Phase 2 lockdown) and more traffic passes through to and from Mt Baker Ski Area and/or they can supply more seating. There are not a lot of quality restaurants out here, so take advantage when you have the time, and be patient!
Wow! This is perfect after a long day of hiking, or just to enjoy. The menu was mostly sold out when we visited, but what was left on the menu was delicious.
Nice ambiance with amazing food! The sake is imported and so damn good! We tried the Gyoza, Hummus roll, Ahi Roll and Shrimp roll. Each plate of roll has 6 pieces and is enough for 1 person. The staff is very friendly.
