We dined here at the community table. Would love to go back for the 10 course tasting, but this was phenomenal. Everything we got was delicious, and we had good conversation with people at our table. They have a lot of options if you are gluten-free or dairy free. Service was great, and the cocktail menu was interesting and delicious.

Best place in town for a solid cocktail. Devon knows the classics & their selection of rotating seasonal cocktails always leave you curious for the next.

Food is good, with only a few misses over the years (from my experience) that said, the salad with maple miso vinaigrette never disappoints.

Prices are a bit high on both the beverages as well as the food, and wait times can vary anywhere from 10 minutes to 45 depending on how busy the restaurant is.

While visiting Orcas Island for a quick overnight stay, we did not anticipate we would enjoy one of the best and most enjoyable culinary experiences of our lives. We stumble uno Matia and so glad we did. The food was exquisite, prepared the freshest and most delicious local ingredients. Their unique wine selection made for the perfect pairing with every dish. The service was superb. Would highly recommend it when visiting Orcas island.

$30 here gets you four tiny dumplings in a millimeter of thin broth. The menu mentioned pork, pears, seaweed, and ramen, which led to the impression that you would get enough of each of these things to actually taste them. If only. The advertised pears took the form of about six pea-sized morsels! Are you for real? The seaweed was practically nonexistent, and we were duped by the fine print, as there was no ramen, only ramen broth. My fiancé ordered a potato dish- she got less than one potato's worth of food. Thirty dollars for less than a single potato? And because it took so long for this all to come out of the kitchen, by the time we realized we would be going home hungry it was too late to get anything anywhere else. We were left feeling scammed. The cocktails were decent though- yes, overpriced and underpoured, but not so far outside of expectations as the food. Overall, you will be much better served by any of the many other options within a five minute walk. This place is just a scam.

Overpriced, if you don’t mind paying $18 for a well cocktail that took over 30min to arrive then it’s the place for you. The servers were really friendly.

We were seated at the drinks-only “bar” area while waiting for a table to be available. Ironically, the bar is in the dining area and the kitchen is in the drinks-only section. We ordered drinks and it took 30 mins for the drinks to be served and we were already moved to the dining area. There’s not a lot of food options to choose from and everything is overpriced. I ended up ordering the lamb meatballs and it looks appetizing. I just wished it tasted as good as it looked. It was very salty. Not overseasoned, just salty.

Absolutely obsessed with this restaurant! It’s worth risking the service of the inter island ferry any day! Dynamic menu full of fresh, local ingredients that never fail to impress. Our last server (Evan?) was phenomenal. I don’t drink alcohol, and I love that this restaurant is extremely conscious of those who don’t indulge. The N/A options here are top notch, and for that I am extremely grateful. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We walked in on a Sunday night and they sat us right away with no reservation. My partner is vegan and they happily modified the menu. The homemade butter with flaky salt that came with the sourdough was to die for. They have an extensive wine and spirit menu with plenty of na options. I had the spaghetti with lamb and my girlfriend had the rigatoni with summer seasonal veggies. They were both delicious. The vibe was moody and romantic. Can’t wait to go again next time we visit.

A must when visiting Orcas Island, Matia Kitchen and Lounge is fantastical playful culinary adventure. Founded by Chef Avery Adams, Matia reaches beyond farm to table, this sustainable restaurant creates a warm inviting and elegant atmosphere leaving behind snobbery. My husband I and were way under dressed because we’d been hiking around Moran State Park, yet, we were warmly welcomed and seated immediately in the lounge. Right away we got the sense we were in for a treat, something special. Not recognizing either of the two whit wine options, I asked our server which was closer to a Pinot Grigio or the dryer of the two, she responded, “let’s let your pallet decide,” and brought over both bottles to taste. Wow, great start. I recently adopted a GF diet, so my options were limited. So let’s get to the food. . . We started w/ local Judd Cove Oysters, they were cleaned free of sand and presented beautifully. My husband ordered the herb gnocchi and while the portion was small and they were a little doughy in the center, based on the flavor profile with the fresh chèvre (soft goat cheese) and summer squash he gives it a thumbs up. I ordered the
Skagit Tomatoes, Spiced Peanut Butter, Chili Crisp, Matia Furikake, Rice Milk Sorbet, it was OMG good! My husband and I practically licked my plate clean, I mean the melody of flavors just dance across the palette. We look forward to returning and try one of their craft cocktails. A wonderful experience.

Really enjoyed our dinner here. The homemade sourdough bread comes out warm and is super delicious. The seasonal salad was one of the best I ever had…the lettuce was so fresh! The carrot dish had really complex flavors that went together beautifully. Overall we enjoyed our dinner immensely and will be back! Dog friendly on the patio.
