Such a great menu! I'm a pescatarian & often have limited choices at a restaurant but there were so many options for me. Whenever we eat here the food & the service are exceptional! And the atmosphere is buzzy but not too loud for conversation.

It had been a while since my husband and I last ate inside Bar Dojo. We were craving this delicious menu and Bar Dojo did not disappoint! The service was lovely - attentive and very friendly. The bottle of Twisted Vine cab we shared was a good value. And the food, as usual, was amazing. I got my usual - red curry chicken noodle bowl - the squash tempura side is my favorite. Atmosphere was hopping for a Sunday night... highly recommend! Be sure to reserve a table!

Make a reservation to get table seating. We came in last minute because we saw great reviews on yelp and the fun looking cocktails. We were able to be seated immediately at the bar. We ordered drinks and some food. The food was underwhelming. For the price we did expect a little more in flavor. The Dumplings were soft and the noodles had a little spice, but did not have much of a wow factor for the price for us. The Dragon Claw drink had a good spice to it. It was a busy place and the staff were keeping busy. Not the most ergonomic set up with the bar/ dishwasher which could see caused a couple bottlenecks. The staff worked well together in working in the small space.

We'd been trying to come here with friends for a few months, but the dates just weren't lining up. Finally had our chance a few weeks ago and scored a semi-last-minute Friday dinner reservation for 4 of us. We were surprised that the reservation confirmation stated dress code is "smart casual" which sent me in a bit of a spin. I'm not a sloppy dresser, but I do hate having to think too hard to interpret someone else's dress code. The lame part was that it was not even remotely enforced. If you wanna show up tie-dyed, untucked, in shorts and flip-flops, as some other patrons did that night, you won't be turned away. Also, the restaurant is in a strip mall. There's dim lighting and a comfortable atmosphere, but this is not fine dining. So my advice is don't stress too hard about this detail. Our waiter was really friendly and assured us that everything we ordered was one of his favorites. He also was great about checking on potentially problematic ingredients for us, so we felt confident in what we were ordering. I like that there's a plant-based section to the menu for easy-to-order vegan items, and that the rest of the menu includes a couple more vegetarian options as well. It's a bit of a bummer that I had to rule out at least 3 of their vegan entrees because I can't eat Impossible products. That being said, what I did eat was very tasty. Tofu Mushroom Bowl (sautéed mushrooms & onions, tofu, rice, serrano peppers, fresh vegetables, spicy miso sauce, fried egg, scallions; $23) was a good size and had nice flavor. I appreciated the house hot sauces our waiter brought out for it. I went with this over the yakisoba, which was very similar but with noodles instead of rice, because the yakisoba cost an additional $6 to add tofu. That's a crime in my book. The veg okonomiyaki rice (garlic fried rice, seasonal vegetables, okonomiyaki sauce, umami black garlic vegan mayo, scallions, sesame seeds, micro greens; $20) with tofu ($6) looked really good but did not really resemble okonomiyaki other than the mayo. Edamame dumplings (edamame vegetable dumplings with chili oil, scallions, fresh minced garlic, ginger, tamari, sesame oil; $16) were very garlicky, and the hoisin cauliflower (tempura cauliflower tossed with savory chili hoisin glaze, scallions, sesame seeds; $19) was a surprising favorite. Drinks were very photogenic. The Dragon's Claw (tequila, lime, serrano, guava, poblano liqueur, salt) had some good heat to it. All in all I think the consensus is that we're glad we came but not sure that we're rushing to come back.

We dined there on the last evening of the Spring '24 restaurant week. Oyster appetizer was great, as was the short rib, mashed potato and broccolini entree. I'm kind of a stickler about having warm food served when out and the food was perfect temperature. Dessert was a frosted coconut cake with a garnish of nuts and berries, nice and chilled. My wife and I agreed: dinner was delicious. Bar Dojo is definitely on our list of very good Edmonds restaurants and we'll surely be back.

Food was amazing. Went for Seattle Restaurant Week and will definitely return. We were seated in the front section next to a loud talker, and the draft from the front door was uncomfortable. But everything we ate was delicious...the pan cooked King Salmon in a miso sauce was outstanding!

I love this place! They have creative great food! Love their oyster selection and they have a fun happy hour. Restaurant is on the smaller side, but that adds to the charm!

Food was interesting and flavorful. We enjoyed the al pastor bao very much. The hamburger was huge, messy to eat. The flavor was very much what you would expect from a hamburger with a pleasant and interesting flavor twist. Although we asked for medium rare, the burger came well done. The Birria Ramen was flavorful. Unfortunately not particularly the flavors I prefer but not bad. I think many others would like it. We were seated in a small section separated from the main dining room. It felt a little like being in a short hallway but it had good light and was much quieter. Service was excellent. Food was overpriced. $25 for a hamburger (more than at a steakhouse) and $25 for a medium sized bowl of noodles, one egg and a little meat.

This place is a hit or miss. Some items are fantastic and others are worse than your local asian fast food joint. Maybe steer clear of anything on their menu that you can get for less than $17 elsewhere.Hit: Slow braised short rib (short rib was soft and luscious), drinks (love the depth of flavors in their drinks), lychee panna cotta (yum!)Skip: Vegetable yakisoba + chicken katsu (noodles were soggy and flavor profile was boring, the tonkatsu sauce was too salty and acidic that it overpowered the seemingly well cooked chicken), salmon tartare wonton tacos (it was not bad but also not good, whatever they put on it was acidic and salty and not much else, couldn’t taste the salmon at all that I forgot it was salmon and thought it was tuna until I looked at the menu again, what’s the point?)

Bar Dojo Edmonds is the OG gem! We've been devoted since the beginning. Always great vibes, food is superb, and their staff is always welcoming with or without our kids! They recently just started offering brunch, and oh my, how we loved it! Chefs Kiss! Congrats on the new digs at Lumen Field and Woodinville!

Delicious! We were a party of four and were all delightfully pleased! The waiter recommended the avocado rice and if you haven't tried their avocado rice, put it on your list! I don't often take go boxes, but this required it!

Reservation made over 1 month prior to dinner that coincided with the first day of restaurant week. Me and my friend were put in the corner which was fine but we were concerned we would be forgotten about, which is exactly what happened. We didn't get seated with the drink or restaurant week menu. Took 30 min to take our order and another 45 minutes before we got the appetizer. 2 other tables were seated around the same time--one finished their entire meal before we got our drinks and appetizer and the other was served their entree before we got our appetizer. Main course was brought within minutes of getting our appetizers and given the small table we were rushed to eat the appetizer to allow room for the plates. Check was brought within minutes of the dessert, rushing us out. Food was decent but not worth the wait. Server was nice but spoke so quickly it was difficult to understand what was being said. Will not go back. Definitely not worth the $65 for restaurant week. Only go if you have more than 2 hours to devote to a mediocre dinner.

Extremely frustrated with Bar Dojo over the last 3 months. While the food is always delicious , we have noticed a significant decrease in the amount of food we receive on many of the dishes we order. We understand that prices are higher for food, but it's frustrating when you receive your order and it's half of what it used to be. The most transparent thing to do would be to raise the price.
