The staff at Calypso are friendly and courteous. Food is delicious - favorite is the Sofrito Mac n Cheese along with the jalapeno cornbread.

Has gone up in price and down in quality. The jerk chicken is now less chicken, more dry, and less spicy. The frozen cocktails are not as strong as they used to be. Portion size for appetizers is smaller but the same cost. If it was more affordable I wouldn't mind so much, but for that price I expected things to improve, not get worse.

The ambiance is nice—almost enough to distract you from the customer service, which feels like it graduated with honors from the School of Rudeness. The lady at the front could use a serious crash course in ā€˜How to Be Nice to Humans.’

As for the food, it’s proof that looks can be deceiving. It’s like the chef put all the effort into plating and forgot about the actual cooking. Save yourself the hassle—unless you’re in the mood for stylishly served disappointment and a masterclass in being ignored.

Hmm. An appetizer and salad were decent. Everything else was decidedly amateur and very salty. The steak was cooked by someone who doesn’t know how to prepare steak and they have the audacity to charge $40 for it. The service was slower than molasses in January. We must have waited 45 minutes for the entrees. Atmosphere?… I guess there is technically some atmosphere. Whoever owns this place either stopped caring or never really knew what they were doing and still don’t. I assume the business is surviving on the liquor license during busy weekends and happy hour. It sure isn’t the food or service. Go somewhere else.

I went here with a group because of the well rated reviews. I was unfortunately disappointed by the food and service. I got the ribs and the mac and cheese. Don't get me wrong, the flavors and spices they use are great, but the ribs were incredibly dry and the mac and cheese was watery/soupy. The drinks are very well done, but the service was slow and we received our drinks almost 30 minutes after ordering them. Maybe we got this restaurant on an off night, but I was disappointed with my first time here.

Oh my! This place is too amazing! I didn’t take any photos but their jerk chicken and curried goat are both amazingly delicious. We had two salad dishes and one dessert, all of them are amazing too. How many amazing I can use in one review? Highly recommend this place for their delicious food and romantic atmosphere.

Incredibly rude and cocky front desk lady. I feel bad for the owners, because they probably worked pretty hard for this place to do well and they have a cocky staff member ruining peoples impression of this place

Picture this: I park my car for 20 minutes in front of a closed restaurant. The place is as silent as a library on a Monday morning, and there’s no sign that it’s a ā€œdo not park hereā€ situation. I come back, and voilĆ ! My car now has a sticker slapped on it, courtesy of an invisible manager, who I imagine must have been lurking in the shadows with ninja-like stealth. The sticker was practically glued on with industrial-grade adhesive, so now I’ve got half a sticker and a permanent reminder of this restaurant’s self-appointed role as ā€œParking Patrol of Edmonds.ā€

So, now I’m out here with a razor blade, scrubbing away at this stubborn sticker like it’s my life’s work. I’d eaten here once before but wasn’t inspired enough to leave a review. But after this sticker incident? I’ll just say, the food isn’t memorable, but the parking enforcement certainly is.

Sorry no pic because we ATE IT ALL. Conch fritters and must-have cornbread started us off, with the yummy Painkiller and Peach Bellini cocktails, and then the pepper beef stew was to die for. Thanks for being a great waitperson, Charlotte! Loved the meal and your recommendations.

Last stop in our pub crawl. Thoroughly enjoyed my Mojito drink and shared calamari and pork ribs with my group. Excellent service and as others have noted, a lovely happy vibe.

There was a bit of wait when we first came in so we left our number and walked around exploring the area then circled back after we got a text that a table was available.

Parking can be a pain but if you don't mind walking, you'll always find a spot to park.
