Tasty Taiwanese comfort food! I'd recommend the crispy chicken bento box. The sauce is tangy and a little bit spicy; it balances the crispy chicken really well
The tomato egg dish is also really tasty.
And don't miss out on the bubble tea! We had a passion fruit green tea with aloe vera and a mango pomelo sago smoothie. Both were great! It seems like they brew real tea and use real fruit here.
Bento box is yummy in optimal price

The spicy hot pot was good for the value. The stir fried water spinach / ong choy was also decent. I would not recommend the oyster pancake. Please stay away from that gooey mess. It appeared to be made of tapioca starch or something gelatinous that looked unappealing and tasted just as bad. Mixed in that mess is about 4-5 small oysters. Stay away from that dish.
The place looked pretty dirty/sticky. The servers didn't seem very well trained because one of them had their fingers on the rims of the water glasses before handing them to customers.

Gross food. The young guy on the counter is very mean. He should not be allowed to work there. He obviously doesn’t want to be there. If he’s the son of the owner please get him out of that place before he makes customers very angry. He almost did to me. What a waste of money.
Dont order to go. Actually ididnt try dine in but when you order for appetizers popcorn chicken they give you less than 10 tiny pieces to go bc they know they can short cut cx to bank on couple pieces of chicken. Its used to be big portions and you can see the difference is night and day with edmond location and bellevue. Edmond location is so bad for more than 3 years.

Pre-funking before mahjong night (sidebar: I won). 4 TGTG bags. Thanks for the memories!
From the time they opened until now. The food and drinks were not bad at first. Outsourcing drinks is better than Yifangdu. But after Yifang went left, the drink plummeted. There are so many hand-cranked drinks that can go downhill. If their drinks could return to a good level, or be as good as Bellevue, it would be much better. Plus, I love their hot sauce

This is our go-to restaurant whenever we’re unsure of what to eat. The food is always spot-on—perfectly balanced in flavor, not too salty or oily. The service is consistently friendly and quick. On occasion, we’re lucky enough to catch the delightful aroma of tea boiling in their open kitchen while we dine. Plus, it’s a nice touch to grab a cup of milk tea to go after a satisfying meal. As a huge fan of 90s C-pop, I especially love their music playlist—it always adds to the vibe!

First of all, I can’t comment on the service and atmosphere as I ordered via Uber Eats, so I’m giving them fives in these two areas.
However, the steamed chicken leg with scallion and steamed pork belly with garlic sauce came cold, like it just came out of the fridge cold, way colder than the outside temperature. Someone messed up and forgot to microwave before they put them in the bag. My third dish was vermicelli noodle, which came hot.
Ordered via delivery service, I certainly lowered my expectations and was willing to accept that the food was not going to be as good as dining in, but having to heat up these two dishes separately took time, and it was hard to heat the chicken legs evenly in the microwave. More importantly, I certainly did not expect any reputable Chinese restaurant to precook dishes and keep them in the refrigerator.
This ruined my family’s experience. We were hoping for some good food based on the reviews. I am very disappointed and am unlikely to order from Looking for Chai again anytime soon.

If you're on the hunt for authentic Taiwanese cuisine in Edmonds, "Looking For Chai" is the place to be! This charming restaurant offers a delightful range of dishes, from night market-style steak and street comfort foods to warming hot pots that are perfect for any weather. Their menu also features a variety of bento choices, catering to all tastes and preferences.
A standout feature of Looking For Chai is their collaboration with the famous Taiwan fruit tea chain, YI Fang. After a satisfying meal, you can indulge in a wide selection of authentic Taiwanese drinks, perfect for rounding out the dining experience.
Our group, which included several kids, had a fantastic dinner experience here. The staff were incredibly accommodating, providing kid-friendly utensils and water glasses, making it easy for the little ones to enjoy their meals. They were also very flexible in customizing dishes to meet the kids' special requests, which was a huge plus for us.
Overall, we experienced great service and delicious food in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend Looking For Chai to anyone seeking a taste of Taiwan in Edmonds!

I got the crispy chicken with spicy sauce bento. The chicken was juicy and crispy. The sauce was sweet and tangy, which complemented the crispy chicken. Everything else was great and had no issue!
The server was nice and patient. They provided service when needed.
Overall I would recommend this place to my friends!

Food was ok but the service is friendly and good. Most of the old dishes that we like weren't on the menu anymore.
