Scratch Distillery

I was so excited to visit Scratch Distillery, and let me tell you, it delivered... a profound sense of disappointment I won't soon forget.

The spirits here are so 'unique' I'm fairly certain one of them is capable of stripping paint off a table.

In short, if you're looking for a great place to appreciate fine craft spirits, this is a phenomenal place to practice walking immediately in the opposite direction.

Reserved a tasting on a Sunday afternoon and were greeted by the owner. Chill environment with outdoor and indoor seating. Owner was gracious enough to include a tour which is not typical for Sundays. Their process and growth was fascinating and I could spend hours learning about their efforts. Food options were limited although the brie, fig jam, and rosemary crackers (cheesemongers cheese & salami plate) was a good palate cleanser. Tried several cocktails and a flight of 4 spirits. They have such a large variety of spirits from spicy (hatch pepper vodka for ex) to intensely aromatic (waquavit for ex) to very sweet (falemum for ex).

Great local spot. Definitely worth a tasting or just dropping in to enjoy the space. It’s a fun spot, staff are the right mixture of friendly but not intrusive.

Ended up having a spare thirty minutes, and stopped in for a drink. All the drinks were super tasty, and the place had a good vibe. Would totally go back!

Bespoke Gin!
I cannot recommend this enough. You must experience their GINiology class. You get to learn about the history of gin while sipping on two gin based cocktails, get a thorough tour of the gin making process, and design your own bottle of bespoke gin. If you are looking for a unique experience, this one takes the cake. We got lucky and took a class within the same week Kim started offering her very own Chartuse. We couldn't leave with a bottle. 10/10

Can’t wait to go back! Online reservations were incredibly convenient; a plethora of interesting & speciality choices for spirits and cocktails. Only “con” is that the seating area can be a little cramped/ loud when the distillery is busy.

Wow this place is awesome. Rare spot to find in all my traveling. Kim and Astrid are awesome and super knowledgeable. Glad to see someone is making aquavit locally in Washington. You have to try the underground aquavit. Will definitely be back.

Scratch is our favorite distillery. The creativity and passion put into the various gins, vodkas, aquavits and liqueurs is astounding. Their whiskey is distinctive too. There’s something for everyone. Scratch’s cocktail recipes are also great. If you partake in spirits, Scratch is a worthy destination that will delight and surprise you.
