I don’t understand the low rating on this place. We tried their cod fish and chips and it was delicious, prices are competitive and the staff is friendly. We will definitely come back!We came on a Monday evening and the service was pretty fast. They offer a variety of beverages and the place has outdoor and indoor seating.

the food is good, my favorite is the mozzarella sticks with marinara sauce, HOWEVER, 5 sticks for 8 dollars is crazy. please fix this pricing.

What a dissapointment. I Was craving fish and chips, all the Ivar's seem to have disappeared so I decided to go to Spuds. $41 for 1 person lol. I sat down and sat in something really sticky. Told them about it and they didn't wipe it up while I was there. Hope they did after I left. If it was my place I'd of hit it right away. The food was subpar at best. Chowder had a weird flavor and the texture of over boiled potatoes that had been liquefied in a blender. The tarter sauce tasted almost sour, I'm sure it wasn't but it wasn't awesome. The fries were soggy and greasy and the fish wasn't anything special. For $41 + tip there are much better places to go IMO. All around pretty poor experience.

For some reason the fish and chips at the Edmonds location don't match the Greenlake location and think their fish serving is smaller in size.

Not a great experience - - had to order two times and they still got it wrong. For the price you pay, they need to do better. Fries were good, fish was ok, service was meh. Made me wish I had gone somewhere

You know those times when you are just planning on "figuring it out when you get there" for a lunch and you stumble upon an absolute gem?! We had a moment like that when we stumbled upon Spuds. We were visiting family and took the ferry over to see some family before heading back over to the peninsula to visit with other family over Thanksgiving break. This restaurant is really close to the ferry terminal and an easy walk. We had six young kids with us and a handful of adults. The staff was extremely patient and friendly and went out of the way to take care of our wild pack of animals. ?I was impressed by their attitudes and their food was delicious. I had been craving some fish and chips and they had it in spades! Plus all the additional condiments you'd want and ones you didn't know you wanted until you saw they had it (that was the garlic aioli for me!). I was very impressed and have now made this "my spot" anytime I'm out there visiting. The atmosphere is so fun and the decorations are great. We loved the pinball machines a lot as well.I highly recommend this for getting some fish and chips or a quick bite while waiting for the ferry. The service was very speedy as well.Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly and a really fun option to take the kids to. The pinball machine is a fun kid friendly touch as well.

The fish and chips here are the best in the area I have had so far. The prices are fair and the quantity is generous. Compared to Ivars, the quality is definitely evident. The fish is super juicy without being overly fishy in smell. They have a great selection of sauces and condiments. Pick up and clean up is self service so there are no frills there. The staff are friendly and the area is generally clean and spacious but sometimes there can be some tables that have no been wiped down.

11/1 edit - business responded hoping it wasn't the flu or some other ailment. Food borne illness doesn't have to be wide-spread to still be a problem. I ate no other food that day, and hadn't had anything else prior to that for 12+ hours. I'd also like to highlight the part about the chowder being watery, the oil tasting weird, and a fairly large amount of water coming out of the cod when I bit into it.It might be speculation, but it could also be the "marinating" garlic vinegar or whatever the heck it is, because I probably shouldn't have used it thinking back to how weird the contents looked. Re-rated to one star based on the company's tone deaf response, and quick-to-deny any wrong doing. Honestly, I didn't really care about a 24-36 hour digestive issue caused by your food until you tried to apologize without apologizing. Will not be coming back, and will make sure to share my experience with other people, especially friends who live in Edmonds.Original post:Got very sick from the (cod) fish and chips. Will not try again. Staff was nice, but obviously some food handling/storage improvements need to be made.

NOT the Spud's of old. Breading is not the same, thin and tasteless. The fries aren't fresh cut but frozen. WAY overpriced. Such a shameful representation of this iconic Seattle restaurant. Won't be back.

Cons: soggy fries with no salt, small portions, tartar sauce has barely any relish, and price is way too high.Pros: quick friendly service, free fresh lemon wedges.Taste no better than frozen grocery store french fries and fried seafood. Not worth $14.
