The sushi was so poorly rolled that it was falling apart all over the place. That wouldn’t have been so bad if the server would have came back and offered us forks , alas after we asked for more napkins and extra plates to share our food she never came back. The shrimp was not cleaned and had the poopy vein in it. O out of 1000 . Do not eat here

Authentic Japanese Sushi & more! The service is super friendly and the sushi is INCREDIBLE! We drove from the Ballard neighborhood for years, and still drive there from the Shoreline area. I truly haven't found a Sushi restaurant that can compare to Hanami!

I used to frequent HANAMI but not anymore. I found both the server and chef RUDE and UNFRIENDLY. I am Asian and found the Korean proprietors oddly discriminatory. Each time I was there the woman who waited on my table was grumpy…and YET she and the sushi chef were very friendly and gregarious toward white people!

Once, I dined there w my family when I asked nicely for extra ginger. They came back w a sliver or two, hardly anything…it was insulting. We have never come back. No matter how good the food is, ultimately the food leaves you w a bad taste in the mouth when the restaurant staff makes you feel DIMINISHED on account of your race. Do not patronize this restaurant. Take your business to another establishment that is more deserving, like SAKUMA, which is also in Mukilteo. There you will get friendly service with respect. That’s what I did. And I’m happier for it.

Great, authentic food, everything we got was great, the portions were large and the pricing was fair. The owners were super nice and good business people. Definitely going to be a regular spot for our family now.

Kid-friendliness: Our kids were entertained by the lego displays everywhere and the kids options on the menu. They loved getting Ramunes!

We were disgusted by the service by the owner. First she does not service us hot water. When we asked for the reason why tea was served but not hot water, she explained once and became impatient and grumpy, then she put on her smiley face to the next table of white customers. The we were served miso soup with no spoons whereas the other table was already enjoying their soup with their spoons. At the end, she dared yelling at my dad to ask him to sign the receipt. To the owners: you need to learn basic respect and work on your customer service, and lastly, at least try to hide that look from your face when we tipped you NOTHING.

I wish I could give more stars. I just finished lunch with a good friend who has frequented Hanami for decades. The service is exceptionally warm and inviting, and the sushi is unbelievably tasty and beautifully presented. If you dine here, tell them you know Joe!
